This restaurant inside Orange Lake Resort in West Village was spectacularly delicious. It should be noted that our family and I went a little later than the traditional lunch times, so the waits weren’t too long and the seating was more available. We got to pick where we sat, so we chose to sit by the pool, on a small platform (not inside, but not outside). Our waiters were very nice, polite, and friendly. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the attentiveness of the waiter after ordering. We received our drinks, then ordered, then another individual brought us our food (with a huge smile). Shortly after, the waiter came and checked on how we were doing, then the next time he brought the check. A member at our table had to ask for a drink when they brought the check because they didn’t visit us again.
The food was really great! We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, but we wish we had purchased another order (because you only receive a few, and they were good). The onions were large and soft, while the outside breading was golden, crisp, and crunchy. The American burger was a mouthwatering standard grilled and charred burger. The toppings were fresh, and the buns were soft. The fries with the burger were excellent. Golden outer crust with a flakey and soft inside, with a nice seasoned mix to top them off.
The spicy chicken sandwich was good too. It came with Coleslaw which had a refreshing taste. The chicken itself was pretty mild, and was pretty dry without the sauce. However, by adding the buffalo-like hot sauce, it was leaps and bounds better than without. The sauce is spicy, but it’s a nice type of spice, nothing like a ghost pepper, but just a little hotter than a jalapeno. It really is a nice balance of heat, especially with a refreshing drink (of course of your choice & optional).
I was told that the fettuccini alfredo was really good as well. I can’t tell you how it tastes, but I can tell you that it was finished in about 5 minutes. It’s not the biggest portion, but if it didn’t taste good, it would have sat there longer! It comes with a breadstick that was “Okay”.
The seafood paella I was told was good. The paella came with rice, shrimp, and clams, along with several additional toppings. Again, I was told it was really good, but I can’t attest to the flavor profile, so you’ll have to try it for yourself!
You can check out the food mentioned with the attached pictures! By going at a non-traditional time, I think we avoided a lot of the hassle with any wait times, tired staff, limited seating, and crowded atmosphere. Everything was terrifically tasteful and splendid! It was also nice to sit on the porch-like area so we could view the pool and the sun without suffering in the heat, because there was a slight breeze/draft. Our family and I will be visiting this place again! I encourage you to go out and try this place...
Read moreWent with my partner for a late lunch/ early dinner since we hadn't tried it yet. Started with an appetizer of wings. We LOVE wings and we've had Thai chili at other places and loved it. Apparently you can only have one dressing (blue cheese or ranch) so we paid extra for both since he's a blue cheese guy and I'm a ranch woman. The wings were a let down. They were so sweet. No chili. Just straight dessert sweet. I ordered a happy hour margarita... it just wasn't great. Then for the main meal. He ordered the paella. There honestly wasn't any flavor. He added salt, no help; Tabasco sauce, still bland. I decided to take it to go to doctor up at the villa bc the potential is definitely there. The only saving grace of this restaurant was my meal. The porterhouse pork chop. The chop was cooked well and still juicy. I would have liked more of the guava sauce on top but considering it was actually flavorful and juicy, I wasnt going to complain. The sweet plantains were also tasty but the rice and beans left much to be desired. The rice was crunchy and the whole side was lacking in flavor. Just thankful one thing was delicious. No need to return here. We'll stick with...
Read moreHad breakfast there and everything was amazing. We went back for dinner and had Christina as our server. She seemed annoyed. She didn’t tell us her name just walked over with waters and said are you ready. We ordered a few appetizers and said we would keep one menu incase we wanted to order anything else and she didn’t speak grabbed the menus and walked away.we decided to move inside since it was chilly she was again annoyed about that. I let the manager know and she continued to serve us which was fine. She smiled once throughout the experience. My husband asked about the soup of the day she explained it was her favorite. We Loved the Corn Chowder soup but Christina didn’t come back to ask us how we liked it. It took her over 10 minutes to come back to us to give us boxes. The make manager grabbed plates but didn’t ask if we needed boxes or if we were okay. She dropped the check off after we paid and said have a good night with no smile and walked away. The female manager never came back to us to check on the rest of our experience. I am a Restaurant Manager myself as well as an owner and this was the worse...
