I am still here and would like to review what I have experienced so far. Overall the RESORT in general is great, but I would not want to be an owner here. The customer service is great at face value but their follow thru in my experience is dismal at best. The front desk suggested texting for anything I need and they are great at responding but have yet to actually deliver what I wanted. I asked for some more coffee and hand soap.. yesterday. It’s nearly 8pm the following day and nothing ever happened. I got 12 cups worth of coffee upon arrival so one pot worth for 4 days, and two packets of sugar / sweetner / creamer for 12 cups.. any coffee lover that doesnt drink black coffee would be needing more creamer and sugar the first day, let alone more everything the next day. This circles back to the dismal customer service. I should have had more coffee at my door, and when I offered to go to the reception area to pick up coffee I was ignored via text. I have delegated Publix to my coffee needs lol. The shuttles are a mess. The place is so big, without a car you are at mercy of the shuttles unless you walk the 2 square mile resort. The shuttles can come anytime between 0 minute wait and a 35 minute wait from what I have experienced. The front desk says every 10-15 mins. This is not true unless you happen to be at a popular area of the park. Everything other than swimming costs extra money here. Lazy river? Extra money. Mini golf? More money than a mini golf elsewhere. Breakfast? Make your own in your room, or pay up. Activities are limited and can use some extra on the schedule. There are no adult areas but It is an extremely family friendly park! You need to pay money to tube on the lazy river. I thought I read how to be on the river you need to buy a tube but I have watch plenty of people go in the lazy river without a tube. The hot tub was warm at best, and they dont have a thermometer to make sure it is actually hot. Apparently someone check it regularly, but the pool is so warm, I cannot believe that the hot tub is actually hot. Even at night the hot tub was warm to me, and other guests also agreed. Maybe it is an external temp thing, regardless it doesnt affect my rating. My room is great at face value. Quiet, clean enough. Critics will say the tvs are way too small, the paint job was rushed and there are stains in the carpet. Both bathrooms were tiny in my 2br villa but I do have a jetted tub which is legit! The beds are super comfortable as well. Couches, not comfortable but that is typical for any hotel i have come across. Wifi works fine but will kick you off after 24 hours and make you reapply for (free) wifi. I read earlier about the arcade not being great, and honestly I have idea what arcades that person is going to because I have never seen a better arcade at a hotel in my life. They have all new games and plenty of them, and multiple arcades. Ive been to the main one and you pay by sliding a card. Theres bowling too. I havent played anything or been to the other ones but the main west village one is about 1/3 the size of my local dave and busters which is impressive . If money isnt of concern, you should absolutely go here. If all you want to do is sleep and go to Disney, and maybe swim, you should totally come here. If you want to utilize the park for all it has, expect to pay similar prices of visiting local theme parks just to enjoy the amenities it has to offer. My time share presentation salesman was very nice. Nice guys are the most influential upon individuals that are hard to sell to eg: me. I felt remorse by rejecting his pitch when he did absolutely nothing wrong. My heart said no to committing, so I also said no. Their lateral tactic was to offer me an 8 night stay at a resort another time with no obligation to buy (the time share, which ALSO means I need to attend ANOTHER presentation for $1500 😆) for $1500 a week as a single human I can do wayyyy better things with 1500. Overall great if you are ok with compromise and just want sleep and swim

I really like Orange Lake Resort. The rooms are spacious, the views are nice nearly anywhere you are. The shuttle service is very handy. The shuttle drivers go really out of their way to be the most accessible they can be with limited staffing. The food and drink options are good on premise, but pricier than off premise. They have plenty of activities going on daily around the resort. Multiple pools, arcades, and gyms. It's like it's its own community around that place. One complaint I have is no matter what time my family went to the River Island pool, we couldn't get a chair. People throughout the resort would clearly head down there and drop off towels at 7am and leave because I went there one day and watched for hours only to see towel-filled chairs empty the whole time. Would I go back to the resort again? Yes, definitely. It's a nice place!

This is my favorite place to be. This is my third trip here and I plan to return every year. My 12 year old prefers a day at river island over multiple days at Disney. We can grab snacks, I can grab a cocktail, play miniature golf, hit the arcade, rent a tube and lay back in the lazy river. The river is 1,200 ft and goes between 2.6 feet to 4 feet and a few inches. They have two hot tubs near the river. It's always busy and I've yet to get in but I'm patiently waiting. The staff is amazing and everyone provides beyond stellar customer service. I highly recommend this for any and everyone. This location is amazing for a day to relax by yourself, a trip with the bro's or gals and or for a family trip.

Overall a really good experience. Beautiful villas. Nice area that isn't far from the disney properties.

But the only downfall is the fact that this is a timeshare rental place. So they push the sales with special offers etc (Note: This is optional). All while claiming to be 'different' than other timeshare salespeople. They use the exact same 'tried and true' tactics as the other seminars/sales pitches I've been to. Take you on a tour, explain how not investing doesn't make sense, bring in a second person to work with us to get to a price we could afford after much back and forth. The entire pitch process was near identical to another pitch I've heard.

This being said, the villa was beautiful. Had basically everything one would need to live there, fully stocked kitchen (minus food of course). including, but not limited to full size fridge/freezer, dish washer, utensils and plates/bowls, and even a pasta strainer. Closet with vacuum, ironing board, dust pan and broom. Washer and Dryer. Balcony with a bug net/fence.

Also access to an amazing set of pools with a lazy river and water features (an almost grotto looking stone/waterfall feature). And...

My husband and I have always been against buying timeshares as we thought they were a waste of money and too restrictive. We actually have been to River Island 3 or 4 times and loved it completely. We stayed with our best friends each time and in January 2021, we decided to buy in and got the Signature package Plus a few more weeks worth of points. We were so excited that we went back in March 2021 and bought more time. Everything about this place is outstanding, the suites, the service, the pools and activities and the food and drinks were so yummy. The fact that you can go anywhere with this points was the best selling point for us as we love to travel. We are going back for a 7 day stay in June with a large family group and we can't wait to show it off to them. If you never thought you would want to get into a time share, now is the time to check out Orange Lake Resort, especially River Island and get a package that works for you, you...
