Booked my stay with Expedia because I'm a Gold Plus member. At time of booking I noticed the name changed from Light House Key to The Berkley, didn't mind because my kids had a great time at the pool when we stayed, we did have an issue with working appliance at the time. This is my third and last visit to this property. Not sure about the 5 star reviews on here, I'll explain.
The good news:
1st, the location and views are excellent, the rooms are clean and spacious as mentioned by others. The pool is very clean and my kids love it.
2nd, there are restaurants within 2 mins drive and shopping within 5 mins without traffic.
THE BAD NEWS:
1st. Upon checking in we were told that there is only 1 turndown service within our 9 days stay, we are given towels only once and if we needed new towels we will have to laundry them ourselves, if the complimentary soap is done, we will have to buy additional. Things like toiletries are not given after you've finished your allowance, you will need to purchase additional. What a joke, what kind of hotel don't give new towels or toiletries???? DO NOT ADVERTISE AS A HOTEL.
2nd. On the 3rd day of our stay, a small paper was left at our door, it said "please come to the front desk for your welcome gift" my wife stopped by on our way out, she was greeted by a time share agent. No thanks, please don't try and sell your paying hotel guest on time share with your schemes, not interested. I booked here because it's advertised as a hotel, if I was interested in time share I would have booked at one of the many Diamond Resorts that always calls my phone with discount stays. NO THANKS.
3rd. The TV's in our rooms don't work, doesn't matter because our kids are always on something else like phones or iPads. But my wife and I are old school and like to watch television, can't do it with non working TV's, called the front desk, was told there was a lightning storm (really). FYI no one from maintenance came to fix the issue.
As you can see from the pics posted, empty parking lot, this at 8pm in the evening. There is a reason why this place is empty, horrible management and service, they do not appreciate their guests and I'm guessing they are advertising as a hotel so they can have access to potential time share buyers.
Please book here if you don't mind doing your own towels and turndown service while on vacation, I don't and neither does my wife.
Regards, Bud
Response to Owner.
While I do appreciate your response, I think you did not read my or any of the other negative reviews on here. Seems like a typical response to all other reviews. I'm not a owner at this resort, I'm a paying guest that booked with Expedia for a "Hotel Stay" as advertised by your property. My family and I are still here, we booked for 9 days and our stay last until September 2nd. I do hope you address your property short comings, if not you will continue to see guests like me stop coming here. Again this was my 3rd visit, I know that don't mean much to you because I'm not a owner but others will experience the same short comings and stop coming as well.

As I said before the condos are very spacious and I love the kitchen and the extra bathroom. However room 2202 was not up to par when it came down to being clean or just presentable. The master bedroom curtains was filthy, we don't know what was on those curtains but it looked like black oil in big blotches. The cabinets were old and scratched up and that was surprising because all of the times we have stayed there, or maybe because we usually would be on the 3rd floor, with the same view, everything was excellent. They called to ask was the room okay and we stated that the curtains was filthy and needed to be changed. And we didn't even mention the gnats that was alive and well flying around. So they said they would send someone before 5:00. Well we waited and even called them to remind them about the curtains and they assured us that someone would be there. Well, no show!! Seeing Wednesday was our normal cleaning day, they said instead of Wednesday they would come Tuesday. Okay cool!! Well I stayed in the room the entire day for the cleaners to come while my husband went to the pool. They still didn't show, and said the reason they didn't come clean our room was because the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door!!! Forreal!!! They just talked to us on the phone and we said okay come on!!! No show. We called them again and so they said someone would be up to the room. Well, the person came and the way they knocked on the door sounded like guns shots, we jumped and said "what was that"? Where our room was it was an echo in the hallway and it magnified the knock. š Well when we realized it was the door, my husband went and opened the door and they handed my husband the big bag of linens, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, trash bags and left. š³ I said wait!!! Aren't THEY supposed to clean up? My husband said you know what babe, nevermind. š But in the front of the building it said "WE STRIVE FOR 5", Well I couldn't tell!! Thank goodness we will not be back at those condos again. One time was enough for me. So I hope the next family that stays in room 2202 will at least have clean curtains and fresh stained bathroom cabinets. And not to mention the trash that was behind the door in the laundry room. Berkeley you can do better...

Hotel: Super luxurious, clean, and welcoming. Everyone we met at the front desk was super nice and seemed happy to be there. Clean and large game room with 2 pool tables, arcade games, & jumbo Connect 4. Theater on-site where u can bring ur own snacks as long as u clean behind yourself! Swimming pool, lap pool & hot tub! They also have propane grills with seating! (My family cooked up some yummy hot dogs and burgers). On certain days they offer free popcorn, free ice-cream, etc. They give u a print-out and a calendar so you know whatās happening on-site, and the paper also answers some FAQās. We referred to the print out several times during our stay and it kept us from having to call the desk so often. When we did need a replacement utensil (in the middle of making breakfast) someone came to the rescue in MINUTES! Oh & you only pay a 1x resort fee.. not by night like other resorts!
Room: 1-205 (2nd floor), 3bdrm 3 bath (2 ensuites w/ a shower and jetted tub in each one). A pullout sofa in the living room + still had room for a queen and twin air mattress! Very spacious, very comfortable, and very clean! Screened-patio which kept the flies away during breakfast. Kitchen fully stocked w/dishes and utensils. Starter laundry detergent & dryer sheets for in-room laundering. Extra blankets and towels in every room, and we were able to see the Disney Fireworks show from our balcony!
Location: visited Publix close by.. had some things delivered from Walmart close by.. plenty of gas stations and restaurants in the vicinity. Everything in AND around this resort is just so convenient. And if u donāt want to visit the theme parks (like us) thereās literally enough to do on-site that the kids will not mind. Our kids were so excited to enjoy all the amenities the resort offered.
The only thing Iād do differently ask for the first floor if I have a lot of kids. If itās a couples/adults trip Iād ask for the top floor. I say this because you can hear the stomping/running of those little feet very good at night. We heard the ppl above us and (as much as I tried to minimize it) Iām sure the ppl below us heard our kids.
Other than that.. we are Floridians & travel a lot but THIS RESORT IS THE BEST RESORT weāve ever been to!! Again.. 10/10 highly...
