No complaints here - seeing that this place has excellent reviews I came expecting quality, and believe me, I wasn't disappointed! We came for a late lunch on the fourth of July so not crowded at all. Was attended to quickly and nicely and waitress was kind. This place has the air conditioning blasting plus multiple ceiling fans running - finally! A restaurant in Florida gets it! The menu is pretty large - your classic Italian dishes and pizza. We started off with the garlic knots they were very good and came with marina sauce for dipping. I got the smallest size pizza for myself to eat. The pizza was good. I expected a NY style pizza because of the name of the restaurant but it actually just tasted and looked like you classic pizza. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though because I definitely enjoyed the pizza. One thing that annoys me but isn't a big deal is that when me and the person who I was with was still eating we were asked about getting dessert. What?!? Can you wait till we finish?!?! They have plenty of desserts to choose from and I didn't get any this time but I plan to next...
Read moreWe came here on a weekday on a recommendation of a coworker. So glad we went with our gut and trusted his recommendation. The dining room was buzzing with a good amount of patrons by noon but still had a number of empty tables so seating was fast and easy. We were greeted promptly and were brought drinks fast. My friend ordered stuffed mushrooms and chicken Sorrento. She considers herself a “stuffed mushroom connoisseur” and said these were easily the BEST stuffed mushrooms she has ever had. She ate the whole appetizer without planning to! She loved her chicken sorrento and my chicken piccata was so tasty! The chicken and pasta were perfectly cooked, the lemon butter sauce had great flavor and the capers were great! If I’m being honest, the garlic knots were “ok, not the best but not horrible. I would have liked more butter and garlic, they were a little dry for my liking. We got to meet Robin, the owner, who was so sweet and gracious! This felt like a classic Brooklyn neighborhood pizza joint and I’m...
Read moreIn Brooklyn, NY, we have standards. Real standards, and if you're Italian, you just got to have pizza standards. One of my favorite places in Brooklyn had a woodfired stove, and the pizza was cooked like nona made it. Old school.
After nona went to teach the angels how to make pizza, I got my fix at my old wood fired pizzeria in Brooklyn. Many years have passed, and I'm in Viera, Florida, of all places. Nothing Italian here. I see a pizzeria as I drive, and I go for a slice. It was the worst pizza ever. Reminded me of the stuff they sell in tourist traps in Rome. I toss the slice, and I'm unhappy. It wasn't pizza. As I leave the pizzeriza, on my left, I see Brooklyn Pizza. I am hesitant, but I'm hungry. I go in, get me some pizza, and it's like nona from heaven saw me and showed me the way.
The pizza was like home. Yeah, I said it. The pizza is like back in Brooklyn. Old school Italian. Boss Pizza. In the words of Schwarzenegger-...
