Long Doggers — Restaurant in Florida

Being local, we come here every month or so. Normally we have anywhere from average to excellent service when we come by. However, the last two times we came by, the service has been subpar. The waitress, friendly at first, takes our orders, and hands off the food and drink. And then, with the exception of her asking how our food is maybe once, 5 minutes into the meal, we rarely see her again unless she's walking down the aisle or out the door to another table. Our drinks aren't refilled, and on today's visit, our check wasn't dropped off until well after our family had finished the meal and we were basically picking at the crumbs on our plates. As soon as it was dropped off, she disappeared again. For another 10 minutes. Five of those were conversing with a table she had just sat down... across the aisle from us. If today were busy, that may have been an explanation - but it was not. At one point we were the only family inside the restaurant. If the waitress had just been having a bad day and was trying to contain herself, that could be understandable... until she began telling stories with the other table across the aisle from us. I don't recall whether today's waitress was the same as the one we had had a couple months ago - and I don't want to lump all the servers into this review, especially since there are other reviews with different experiences (great!) - but be aware that at least one waitress on the mid-day crew may leave you more irritated...

I have been eating here on and off for about four years. Most of the staff has moved on other have stayed and give great service. However, the last few times that would include today the services was terrible and not to mention the food. I ordered pretty much the samething everytime a Pico Tico Bowl with Chicken. The taste was completely off and the chicken was like rubber. At this point I no longer even wanted to eat. I tried for about 10 minutes to get my server that only came to our table when the food was order and once after the food was brought to us by someone else to see if we need anything else. This was prior to even tasting our food. I sat their and watch the server help several customers. And not even bother with our table. I finally got up ask another server to have my server come to our table. A manager I believe he was came over before I could tell him fully what was wrong with my food he already kind of knew what was wrong with the meal. So this tells me not the first complaint. He asked if I wanted something else I said not really. He ask again are you sure I can make you something on us. So I told him to just make me some clams with no fries. When I received the bill I was charged for the clams anyways. How is this on us this is more like no it on you. I really dont put a price on food...

Well, we live close by, lived full time 36+ years in Brevard County. This is another one of those..Disappointments..While I only eat chicken, pasta, veggies & "rice" some seafood once in a while so this is the reason we have not visited before. We have our favorite places but today friends wanted to meet here for a "Change". I asked the server between the Pico Tito & The one with chicken, rice, beans & a couple of plantains which dish would be better. One had the Kettle Chips the Rippin Chicken. She suggested without hesitation the One with the Rice, Beans, Chicken & I think it was supposed to be Salsa? Had a couple of plantains too. Not a Good Mix..Not a Good flavor at all & the chicken was well, Didn't taste like chicken, didn't cut like chicken, it was Stringy so Cheap Chicken? Either way, I ate a few bites & that's all it took to know that the maybe 2 Tbs of beans & rice plus that stringy chicken was Not something I'd count as "Food". Took it home to literally throw away..At first I thought my husband would eat the left overs, but he didn't like it either. The Servers acted like they were just too busy to take a minute other than to get the order In. We'll stick to the Favs we frequent Regularly. This food was not...
