I wanted to like this place, but I really didn't. The service was ok from the one employee working there. It was empty except for me so that was good, But Also not a good sign of business.
Was there about a week ago. Here is why I didn't care for it.
The name says old fashioned. But I saw nothing there at all that was like an old fashioned ice cream shop.
The ice cream they have is just bulk purchased ice cream, Nothing made in store.
The employee leaned into and over the ice cream buckets to scoop out the ice cream and it was rock hard, so it was not easy, without gloves and without any type of hair net, allowing her hair to fall down from her shoulders and swing over top the ice cream, making me wonder how many hairs has been picked out of customers ice cream.
They also have a menu for Indian food. Yes. That's right. Indian food. In an "old fashioned" ice cream shop.
While I was there a guy walked in and ordered some kind of Indian food. It is a bit off putting trying to enjoy ice cream desserts with smells of Curry filling the air.
Old fashioned.. seriously?

Read moreNut Allergy review: This store and it’s workers provided stellar service. We went in last night to get ice cream. My son has a severe peanut/tree nut allergy (not airborne) so the only ice cream that is ever safe for him is soft serve. Unfortunately the soft serve machine broke shortly before we got there. The team working last night, led by Jonathan, took a brand new hard vanilla container out of the freezer to make my son a chocolate shake. Jonathan took the reigns and scooped the rock solid vanilla for a good ten minutes. He also cleaned and sanitized every item along the way to avoid cross contamination. This all may seem routine but I haven’t experienced many ice cream places that exhibited that level of caution to minimize the potential dangers to my son. It is greatly appreciated.
Also, kudos to Jonathan for his ability to manage. After helping us, he jumped right back into fixing the soft serve machine while simultaneously addressing other customer concerns and delegating other work duties to the two other workers on shift. He is definitely an asset...
Read moreBuyer beware!! Toppings are listed as .69. They charged $2.5 and $3, respectively, for one topping on each of my kids kiddy cup ice creams. I asked why the toppings were more expensive than the ice cream basically and she said the ones we chose weren’t on the list of .69 toppings and cost more. However the price for the other toppings was not posted anywhere!! She filled up over a cup of topping and weighed it to get the price!!!! So purposely added an excessive amount of topping and never told me what the charge per ounce was and it was not posted. I understand certain toppings may be premium, by you have to notify customers and have prices clearly marked. I was told “certain toppings are heavy” when I complained. Yes, they are heavy when you use like 2 cups of topping and then weigh them according to an unposted price schedule!! Will never be back. The ice cream is good and my kids were happy but we felt this was...
