Burger Monger — Restaurant in Florida

I'm going to be fair to the quality of the food here. The burgers were GOOD, not great. The quality of ingredients was okay but it was not worth the price. Not even close. The quantity for the price was crazy. Overall, we spent $42. We had two burgers, a drink, a milkshake, a side of onion rings, and a cup of chili. The burgers were the smallest I've ever had for $11. I could have gone to a sit-down restaurant with a server and gotten a cheaper burger and it would have been far larger and more filling. The order of onion rings was $4 and it came with 5 little onion rings. Is the price of onions and batter now so astronomically high that they can't give more than a few? The chili was $4 and was definitely out of a can of some kind. Think Hormel or something. It was disgusting. The milkshake was acceptable.

The service : the people were nice enough and helpful but the food came out as pieces. Tell me how my burger beat my chili and onion rings out of the kitchen by about five minutes. I don't want to eat a burger without sides. I want it all served at once. What kind of service brings food out like that? It ruined the experience. I also found a hair IN MY MOUTH while i was waiting on my onion rings to arrive and had to have my burger remade. Insane.

My qualifications for this review : I worked in the BOH of many restaurants for 12 years and I've worked FOH for another 5 years.

Old Burger Monger 5/5 stars, since the remodel 2/5 stars. First upon entering are the menus, a definite bottle neck especially during busy times. Location of the menus will also cause frustration between the people that already know what they want and the people needing to look at menus to decide. Was excited about the addition of sweet potato fries especially waffle fries until I received the order, portion was that of a McDonald's value fries. Before the remodel, energy was high and staff was always smiling. Since the remodel, the restaurant feels sterile and although the staff and service was still great the smiles was less frequent. Instead of many tvs with news and sports, there are only 3 tvs now with less than interesting programs which was on a loop. The music in there was more annoying than entertaining as it does not meet the average age demographics. Seems there's less seating available although the variety of seating has increased though not necessary a good thing. Napkins were replaced with paper towels but they were still less than stellar when it comes to use with eating burgers. The signage outside with white letters doesn't stand out like the red letters did. Didn't want to give a review from a standpoint of someone that doesn't like change so included the points of the remodel that weren't necessarily an improvement. Lastly, not to be picky but i think toppings on a burger should be on top vs...

Let me start by saying I have for many years been a huge fan and supporter of Burger Monger. I've probably told hundreds of people really across the country how good their burgers are and take folks there when they come into town to visit. I went for the first time today after the remodel and I have to say unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. The decor is great the folks working there are great customer service is awesome but the burger just being completely honest did not taste as good as previously. It almost tasted like it was a different quality of meat. Hoping it was my imagination but consistently in the past the taste from the burgers that I've gone there were different then I would get from any place else and today the burger I had tasted no different then a burger from many other places. That's not to say it was bad tasting it just was not excellent tasting like I had come to know. Just average. The food there is pretty expensive but I could always justify it because of the high quality and great taste. Not a big fan of the new french fries either especially the portion size just way too small of an amount. I will probably give it one more shot because maybe I just caught it on a bad day I do hope...
