ive lived in orlando and tampa and in orlando there mexican restaurants EVERYWHERE and the competition is HIGH, many friends of mine have worked for señor tequila in wintersprings, i was super excited when small town wesley chapel finally had a mexican place that supposedly sells GREAT greats and GREAT mexican food…. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THEIR FULL BAR! the tequila and mexcal seletion was amazing! and if a mexican place has quality mexcal you know its great! I myself worked at a mexican restaurant all my university years. From hostess to server to bartender to assistant manager at Azteca D Oro in orlando, and again in orlando competition is tight in mexican restaurants. Tampa not so much, the mexican population isnt that big in tampa its mainly puerto rican or colombian so its hard to find a quality mexican restaurants with quality and traditionalish foods and drinks. senor tequila WC DEFIANTLY has amazing potential! especially in this area. OAXACA MULE (mexcal mule) AMAZINGGGG!!! i was so excited when i was it on the menu and it tasted just as beautiful as it looked. La Gringa quesadilla - not sure why its named la gringa but its basically a Al PASTOR (pork and pineapple) quesadilla- DELICIOUSSSS. Again coming from someone who KNOWS mexican food and mexican drinks i was HAPPYY ! next visit i cant want to try pozole or the sopes! those are next on my list. Of course they will have their hiccups here and there they are a new latin restaurant to the area and a brand new mexican one, trying to distinguish themselves and form a name in a town where there only was las vallartas for so long. suggestions from a person w mexican restaurants experience who only wants to see this place succeed and reach its full potential in an area where they can definitely do it and set the standard: MEXICAN MUSICCC!!!! (thats the only reason why im giving 4/5 stars tbh) when i went last name im not sure but all i heard was salsa. again the puerto rican and colombian population is huge in chapel, show people Mexican music and culture! Banda, rancheras, Rocio Durcal, Juan Gabriel, Vincente Feranadez, Selena, etc THIS is the music that will get people ordering tequila, drinks, singing, and WANTING to continue ordering drinks and having a blast! I was a little bummed out that all i heard when i was there was salsa. and honestly that was my only “complaint” because its not even a complaint cause everything else was AWESOME. inside was beautiful, food and drinks were great. you can tell most servers are still learning and probably new to the service industry but my server was sweet, warm, and attentive. and aside from the act of serving and bringing food and drinks to the table, the act of checking in on your table before the eat, during and one last time after GOES A LONG WAY AND ADDS TO SERVICE! my server did and that shows great standard service that a lot of places tend to neglect. Overall, completely pleased and IMPRESSED, again especially in WC / Tampa area, but next time, PONGA BANDA 😉🤍🇲🇽 (or any other traditional or hit mexican music), it will really kick the experience alllll the...
Read moreThis wasn’t just a bad experience it was a disgrace. Better to eat at Taco Bell than step foot in this disaster of a restaurant ever again. During this experience the restaurant was not busy either.
This place deserves ZERO stars. I went with my family and we were all completely disrespected from the moment we walked in. The staff is rude beyond belief. One of the server actually cursed us out in Spanish and just walked away. And when we tried to address it, the manager defended him and practically encouraged the behavior like it was totally normal to insult paying customers.
After waiting over 20 minutes just for water, the woman who finally brought it to us acted like we were the problem. She rolled her eyes at us, gave major attitude, and then just walked off like we were bothering her by simply existing.
An HOUR later yes, an actual hour our appetizers finally came, burnt. We told our server, who said he’d talk to the manager. Then they brought the same apps out again, and guess what? Still burnt. So the manager (with an attitude so nasty you could feel it from across the restaurant) comes over and says, “We’ll take it off your check,” like we should be grateful they’re not charging us for inedible food. Then she just leaves.
Then, finally, the main entrees come out… with 2 minutes left of the kitchen closing. Some of the dishes were cold. Half the ingredients were missing no tortillas, half the veggies MIA, and the beans? Colder than Antarctica. When we brought this up, the manager became instantly defensive and claimed the food had been out for 20 + minutes (blatantly false), and that nothing was missing. We literally showed her the plate and she just said we “need to deal with it.”
When we asked for the check, they still charged us for the burnt appetizers the same ones the manager said would be taken off. We started going through the bill line by line and realized they had added on a few more completely made up charges. And just when you think it couldn’t get worse, another server not even ours started throwing out discriminatory comments and cursing at us in Spanish. Again, the manager sided with the staff and started yelling at us when we were just trying to fix the issue. Also, my family and I were with kids so they heard the curses and discriminatory comments, and a traumatic experience for them.
This place is absolutely TOXIC.
WARNING: This restaurant is a nightmare. The staff is openly aggressive, discriminatory, and profane. They treat customers like trash, the food experience was awful, the service is a joke, and they added random charges so double check your bill.
This was one of the most degrading experiences I’ve ever had at any establishment. I’ve never felt so disrespected and humiliated, especially in a place that’s supposed to serve the public.
No one should be subjected to verbal abuse, discrimination, and harassment from restaurant staff, especially not when they’re paying...
