The food was not too good to get my 4-star rating, but overall the restaurant deserves it. Comparing to many other Chinese buffet restaurants in Tampa, Brandon, Town n' Country, Clearwater, Saint Petersburg, this restaurant is the number 1 to me.
They even have the best sushi bar (Chinese buffet restaurants, of course), but their sushi is even better than some other sushi restaurants in town. The fish: salmon, white tuna, tuna, shrimp were purely fresh, rich, and tasty. They were generously cut and always come with a well-made sushi rice. The wonton soup and egg drop soup were average. The shrimp cocktail, raw oysters, crab legs, and Southern-style crawfish are usually the top-pick meals, though, the crawfish and oysters are not in a too good quality. The food, except salmon sushi, was served quickly as I always have what I want in the new round. The fruits, cakes, and especially ice cream are fantastic.
With $15.99 for dinner, this is an excellent choice for a dine-out weekend. People will get even more in an efficient way if they come for lunch, which costs $12.99 per person, but you get food the same as dinner.
There were few hints to get the most, and the best out of a Chinese buffet restaurant that I would like to share: I always come to the restaurant in the early time of the meal, like between 11 to 12 or between 5 to 6:30. After that period, I prefer to stay home or have a Big Mac, even though the restaurant is open until 9 or so. The food is always consecutively made fresh at the beginning of dining time or when there were too many customers. I just simply could not get enough food for myself in the second condition, so that I should be in the first. I have never come to a Chinese restaurant to get something like pizza, curry, cajun chicken, BBQ ribs, pies, or even egg rolls. The Chinese do not have such things, and egg rolls are frozen food which people can buy at the oriental market. If I want BBQ ribs, I would rather head to an American restaurant. I eat less gluten food like fried rice, lo mein, or simple white rice to spare the space for seafood. Sometimes, after having enough seafood, I came to lo mein as the last entree before getting some desserts.
That is why I was always happy every time I went out of...
Read moremy 7 years old and I went to dine here for the first time. waitresses (some) and Hispanic employees working behind the food bar were courageous. we really liked the food and place seemed clean. the problem here is that oneq waitress started to rush us out the door as soon as we finished our first plate. mind my son is very skinny and doesn't eat much I am 5'2. 115 lbs. the one waitress seemed worrying that we were going to eat a lot. my son and I are very slow eaters and like to enjoy flavors and absolutely hate to be rush while eating. the one waitress was on top of her work Making sure we have drinks on our glasses. the other negative part is that she talked to me as if o was a kid telling me how much should I've tip her.. she pointed 👉 out the biggest tip. usually I give more than I should but not this time.. because I don't tip base on demands but service. if she wouldn't have been handing me the bill and verbally telling me that i needed to pay "NOW" after 7 minutes of been there she would have gotten a bigger tip. and again I don't often eat at buffets because I eat very little.. my last time at a buffet was 7 years ago... my only reason to go there was to have a good time with my son and get him to try something different, since he is autistic his food choices aren't many.. surprisingly he really liked the food and also got upset about the rushing from our waitress. either of us over ate or wasted food. I'll give it a try again and if I get rush out the door again I'll give them...
Read moreThis is the 1st time I have been back here in about 5 years. When we went 5 years ago, of course it was before the plandemic happened and everything, everywhere including everyone was much better. This restaurant is still very clean, neatly set up, and they keep the bar with fresh hot food and they keep it well cleaned. They still have a ton of food to pick from which is very nice. Their staff appear to always be working and ready to serve. As always you have the ones that seem to stand over in the corners, lurking and waiting to bring refills, grab your empty plates and rush your ticket to your table 😆 but that's expected at Asian amd Chinese restaurants. Their egg drop soup is still the best I have ever had and trust me when I tell you. I have had egg drop soup from North to South and East to West. This place has the best. I sampled a little of everything that day and was shocked that the green beans were very hard and didn't have as much seasoning as most others do. The honey and coconut chicken was simply amazing. Very good. It was tender on the inside but had a slight crunch on the outside. The pepper chicken was also great. The lo mein noodles weren't good at all. They too, were harder than they needed and they were very bland in taste. Otherwise, everything else I had was pretty good. My husband is the seafood junkie 😆 he said everything he had was very good and he was glad we could visit while in town. Knowing the hubby, he will want to go back once more...
