When you think of Don Pan, you think pastries, cachitos, Cuban sandwiches and cafecito. But have you ever thought, wedding cakes? The month of February my fiancé and I decided, it was time to cut our 2 year engagement to an end and officially get married. We were going to have a small backyard wedding with just my mom, sister, sisters husband (from out of town) and my fiancé’s parents and siblings. It was going to be 9 people. I had 6 days to plan my wedding. My mother in law kept insisting we invite some friends; 9 turned into about 20 people. Although it was small, I was still trying to decorate it to my liking. I went to several places to get quotes on cakes and they were out of my small wedding budget. When I went to Don Pan, 3 days before my wedding, they made me a custom cake of the one I envisioned! It was ready for Friday two hours before my wedding ceremony. It was beautiful, big, and affordable! Gustavo was so kind and helpful. The cake was good! It was a little dry at the bottom but I think if I would have let it sit for a whole day it would have moistened nicely before cutting. I had requested it to be a little bigger than normal so that it wouldn’t look too small. Lol. They made our special day and our budget...
Read moreBeyond terrible experience today at Don Pan. Walked in and I was never greeted by staff even though they clearly saw me approaching the counter. However, as soon as I placed my order and it was time to pay the lady behind the counter was quick to show me in the screen where to leave a Tip. Then when it came to make my Cafe con Leche the lady poured previously made coffee on my cup and try to get away with it. It's Cafe con Leche!! You need a fresh expresso shot!!...I proceeded to let her know that was completely unacceptable. I decided to point out that I was not greeted promptly, that she was quick to show me how to Tip her and that this business think is OK cutting corners when making drinks...Lastly I proceeded to tell her that she could the drink, the pastry and my payments and even the tip I had just left; that I wanted nothing...Shockingly, she couldn't care less about keeping my money without providing a service...There's something completely wrong with the service, attitude and careless behavior experience today at Don Pan...I'm pretty sure today was my last time spending my money...

Although he was supposed to come with me he, at the last minute, decided to stay home and sleep. While running around on my own I decided I would treat myself to a birthday pastry, cupcake or something! I'm a Baker I'm very picky where I buy baked goods from... They have to be handmade on premises! I stopped in to Don pan and was greeted with a smile by the gentleman behind the counter. I decided to have a chocolate filled pastry and a beef empanada. I was thinking it might be rude to ask if he heated them up for me and was going to opt out of asking until he said would you like for me to heat them up for you? He did. & I sat in my car with the intention of driving home... But once I bit into the empanadas I was in heaven! Absolutely the best I've had to date! And the chocolate pastry? Good grief so flaky so delicious! Thank you for making my day on my birthday! I will come back for sure and I mean...
