Finally got to try this place after seeing it on the Save Hernando County Restaurants page. My family and I are very picky and go into places with a critical eye. When we try a place we always go in expecting to find at least these 3 things: a clean establishment, flavorful food and friendly and attentive service. It is not the norm for these 3 things to be present at most places, but Cafe Connection has them all! It was immediately observed to be very clean. The smell of good food hung in the air. It was bright and cheery inside. We were greeted and given menus. This part was a little confusing for us, but we figured out their way of doing things and our pleasant experience resumed. After we ordered we enjoyed a game of cards and chatting on our spotless table with spotless condiment bottles, chairs and dispensers. Sadly, even some of our go-to restaurants have succumbed to letting their places get grimey and unkempt. It was so nice not having to break out my own wipes to clean our table/seating area, here, as I have at other places. No worries with this here:) The owner and staff keep it spic and span! Now the food. Again, I have to emphasize how picky we are. We often leave places very unsatisfied due to the food looking good on the plate, but having zero flavor. Cafe Connection delivered on the flavors! We all got avariety of offerings from waffles, a pancake breakfast sandwiches, potatoes, eggs etc. I immediately noticed my butter looked different as did my syrup. With great skepticism I took a bite of my pancake with their house butter and syrup and was so happy! My exact words were " my food has flavor!" I thoroughly enjoyed my pancake. My breakfast croissant was good and so were my potatoes, but that panncake was my fave and so delicious! We all enjoyed our breakfasts-including our coffees and smoothies. We also enjoyed seeing the owner be so involved with his staff and out in the mix with his customers. We knew immediately that this was why things were so well done, here. They are a bit of a trek from where we live, but worth the drive. The owner blessed us with an apple tart (can't wait to try it). It is obvious he cares. With us eating out so often, and having more bad experiences than good....I cannot tell you how nice it is to have found a place like Cafe Connection to go to where we can just relax and know everything is being done with great care and high standards! We will be back and encourage anyone reading this to...
Read moreI ordered from doordash on a breakfast-craving-whim and I'm just blown away by how great this food is! Ok, so first off, l want to point out that this restaurant is obviously environmentally conscious. All of their packaging was as plastic-free as they could possibly be while still being conscientious of how food affects packaging. (They did use a styrofoam bowl for gravy for obvious necessity and included plastic utensils but even those were obviously carefully hand wrapped with napkins and a piece of paper tape.) Second, I would like to say that their portions are extremely generous. I was not expecting that at all. For myself I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and a side of their home fries with onions and peppers. I didn't read the DoorDash thing and somehow got extra potatoes. I had also ordered another side of potatoes for my mom to go with her biscuit and sausage gravy and bacon. Honestly I only should have ordered just one side of potatoes because there's so much we could have easily split it and probably still had leftovers. As it is, I only ate half of my burrito and already feel full 😅 As for the quality, I can't remember the last time I ate a burrito and said "mmmmmm" with every single bite taken. My poor dogs have been sitting at my feet looking obviously tortured lol The home fries are not normal hash browns or fries or whatever, they are potato slices like chips (that must have been made in house) and were lightly tossed in oil with the small onion/pepper medley mixed in. I'm sure they're not as soft if you eat them fresh in the restaurant, but even still, they are very delicious. I will be saving these for later and reheating them in the air fryer probably. All in all I'm very impressed with this restaurant and can't wait to dine in-person. I had no idea we had something like this in Spring Hill. We usually have an abundance of poorly managed and unhygienic restaurants with mediocre food, so this is truly a diamond in the rough, a breath of fresh air. I swear, half the time I travel is just to get away from this area so I can get quality food, so I am REALLY excited to know that we have this local gem, and I can't wait to try more of their...

Also military discount is proudly not offered because they loudly stated by the cashier that the owner donates yearly to a program so he doesn’t have to offer anything at the restaurant. Didn’t even thank my husband for his service, just embarrassed him with the donation comment. So sorry my husband thought to ask.
Over 40 minutes for ONE egg burrito and ONE omelette…. Absolutely insane. Their cafe wasn’t even busy or else I would’ve understood the wait- I did see they were preparing tons of boxed orders for to go I could only assume? I sincerely hope they fix their priorities for future customers. Out of those 40 min for our meals to reach the table they had my egg burrito sitting on the counter for at least 10 of those 40 min mind you it wasn’t under a heater or anything it was just on the counter in the front by the pastries- they were literally working over it on the boxed orders & just talking directly over it -one of the ladies was even playing with my plate of cold food shifting it back and forth while talking to her coworker. I should’ve said something but at the time I thought there’s absolutely no way that was my burrito sitting there, had to be someone else’s. I was unfortunately so very wrong. Guess they were waiting to take everything together to the table which mind you was just 2 dishes?? That’s not okay at all. I’m pregnant and absolutely hate cold eggs so this was just super disappointing personally for me. I brought it up to the “waitress” and all she replied was “sorry honey” and took it back to the kitchen to warm it up. Didn’t seem sincere at all & her tone was super condescending. I’ve worked in the food industry you don’t leave a plate out to get cold like that and then throw out a mediocre apology calling an upset guest “honey”..The one time we try getting away from the kids to have a nice breakfast together and completely regret it, we definitely...
