La Plazita is one of those places that instantly feels special. It’s tucked inside a tiny, busy grocery store—and it’s packed with people, good smells, and the kind of food that makes you close your eyes with the first bite. The Spanish food is hands-down some of the best we’ve ever had. Every dish is bursting with flavor and clearly made with so much love. You can tell this isn’t just food—it’s someone’s pride and tradition on a plate. The space is tight and always buzzing, but that’s part of the charm. You’ll hear laughter, Spanish music, and the steady sound of orders being called out. It’s cozy, it’s chaotic, and it’s completely worth it. If you haven’t been, go. And go hungry. You won’t regret it.

The food is consistent and good. Pernil is flavorful and juicy. I chose the premixed rice with beans because I like a drier Spanish style. My husband gets them separately for more moisture. Empandas are ok, I'm not a fan of them anywhere, but my kid LOVES the pizza ones. I forget what the cheese things are called, but I could live off them! Prices are amazing. Full plate for 9 bucks is great!

The place I have been looking for, my life just got easier, hispanic products galore and fresh spanish vegetables. Next week, I'm going back for more goodies. Thanks to them, I can make my pastles for Christmas and more. Today I almost bought the whole store! A must go for fresh cooked food and more products for cooking!

One of the employees went outside to joke with his friend/family member who had done something unnecessary in the parking that could have resulted in an accident after driving from Hudson with my wife and my two kids to purchase something. When the employee got back to the store, I told the employee nicely what his friend did in the parking was not ok, only for him to be making weird faces, and defending his friends in a very disrespectful way. Then, that employee had the nerve to ask me to fulfill my demand after he had destroyed my confidence by being rude to me. His attitude was so negative that he gave me the impression that he would even spit in my food and might spit in the food of any customers that he doesn't like. If his friend/family member cares about his business then he would value customers going to the market and would not create any situations to provoke an unfortunate incident for any customers. I'm not surprised about this employee's mindset that believes that he was doing me a favor for my money and defending the relationship with that person was more important than the safety of my family bringing money to his business. I will no longer give anyone in la plazita the opportunity to...

I hate to leave a bad review, but this one I can’t help but to share my experience, I walk in, no one greets you, although the food and sandwiches they do make are good, so I told the lady good morning, let me order a ham and cheese sandwich for my son and the lady turns around and asked another coworker to take my order because she was too busy, Mind you, this lady looked at me as if she dreaded to be there. She asked me with an attitude, is that all you want or are you gonna place another sandwich? I said no. So the other coworker Assisted me And asked What else I wanted to order? I asked for bread with butter toasted, he tells me that they don’t make that and that they only make Cuban sandwiches or ham and cheese sandwiches, I look confused because all I’m asking for was bread and butter, anyway I said OK. Then Let me get cafĆ© con leche, I was told they don’t serve coffee. Annoyed I just waited for my sons Ham and Cheese sandwich and I left. I opened the ham and cheese sandwich and there was literally one thin slice of ham and a thin slice of cheese and that’s it. Customer service is horrible. This is like the third time I go there to order and I yet to have a...

I used to frequent "La Placita" when I used to live here years ago. I have moved back and was looking forward to some quick, good, homemade Latin food. To my dismay, this is absolutely NOT the same place that it used to be, now that there are new owners. The pork was dry and tasteless. The yuca was cold and undercooked. The black beans tasted like they came out of a can. The sweet plantains were not sweet, they were hard and undercooked. The theme here seems to be hard and undercooked unless you get the pork which is dry and way overcooked. Oh and the empanada was ok except that it was ice cold and it had probably a table spoon of ground beef...it looked big but it was pretty much just dough and air! I really don't know who they are paying to write their reviews unless they are just people that don't cook and don't know what the food is supposed to taste like! Never going back there again! Don't...
