I CANNOT believe I forgot to make this review. IT HAS BEEN 7 & a half days …. It is time.

I waited for 2 STUPID POTATO BALLS for an hour . I went food shopping, picked my daughter up from school , we visited her grandparents. Came back to Copacabana ONE ENTIRE HOUR later and my food was never sent to the kitchen. Wasn’t even being made . The lady behind the counter was pregnant and she was so sweet so I decided not to make a scene . But I was upset that I waited an hour for two simple menu items and never got em . I got a refund but, um, did I get my hour back ? NO I DID NOT . So yeah I went up the street to Latinos ( a different, and much better Spanish restaurant. If you keep driving up mariner its right next door to Midas on mariner) exactly 6 minutes later I left Latinos with 2 potato balls & they were delicious & hot as always . My point is , don’t go to copacabana . Don’t go to La Pacita. Go to Latinos . I’m trying to help you out and tell you where to get the best Spanish food for the shortest wait time …. Latinos never messes my food up, taste the best & I never have to wait . Go right up the street to Latinos. Best Spanish food in hernando county, no wait time . You...

Run, run, run to your near restaurant other than this one.

  1. the service = awfull , she was mad , because, well we don't know. But she treat us like we was the problem.
  2. we order and we didn't paid mind to it because it was the only "puertorrincan" food in the neighborhood. We where HUNGRY, and we wanted to taste it the food.
  3. the beer was warm not cold. They didn't have juices
  4. when the "alcapurrias" arrived one of them where hot and the other one was stale.
  5. a young kid came in and ask if they could other to go and she told them NO
  6. then a man came to order to go,ask for juice and she went to the Publix next door to buy juice because they didn't have and told the other waitress that it will be quick because his order going to take a while. REALLY? what about my juice??? I wanted juice too!!!
  7. my food arrive, the "Mofongo " was loaded with butter, butter, Yes butter! You could taste the butter, not the plantain or the mojito sauce. I couldn't belive I was seating for more than 45 mins for a Mofongo that taste like that...I was about to cry, I was mad , I was composed

Well, like I said if you want to eat good like I do. Run, run,run away from...

First- told the waitress that it was our first time there and she didn't care... Usually they explain the menu and recommend singing to eat.. but is ok Second- had to wait around 40 minutes for the appetizer Third- food was good however the chicken a little burned and the biftec was very thin. Fourth- when we finish that ask for the ticket we was charged $2 extra for "tostones" because the entree was with rice and beans and no one told us and $1 for another plate that in the menu says $11 and the ticket says $12. I know that a lot of people will say is only a dollar but is not that... The owner is lying because if I order 20 of those entrees will be $20. When I talk to the owner ( I think he was t owner) he said everything goes up.. Is like the gas...I told him the gas told you the correct price and he said because that's electronic.... told him I totally understand but you should fix it in the menu because you can get in trouble for that he said no I'm good.. He didn't care, says I'm a cop and I told him so you should know, he left and disappear. That's one of the reasons that Caribbean stuff don't last because of...

First time ordering from here, and for some background information, I'm a Cuban-American that has moved to Spring Hill within the past few years...so I'm extremely familiar with Hispanic foods. Ordered the bistec empanizado and masitas de puerco (to go), both with a side of white rice & black beans and maduros. As you can see in the pictures, both proteins seemed like they'd been fried and extra fried in extremely old (over used) oil. The maduros are also extremely unappealing. The black beans were extremely thick and the liquid honestly seemed like tar. The flavor on all items honestly wasn't that great either; nothing to write honestly about. On a positive note: I ordered some beef empanadas and those were actually really good. Tastes just like home. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone just yet, but I am willing to give them another try and hoping today was just an off day.

This place is tucked away in the Winn-Dixie plaza. We almost missed it. I am so glad we found it! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Very friendly staff. They seem to keep quite busy with take out orders, so we did have to wait a bit, but not too long. My boyfriend got the Pernil, slow roasted pork, with yellow rice and black beans and plantains. I got the La Canoa with beef, which is a plantain stuffed with beef and cheese. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything was flavored perfectly. So much flavor! And the pork was fall apart delicious! We will definitely be returning to try some of the other dishes!

I found this place on sheer luck an hour away from home and decided to stop by with the wife and everything was on point from the dishes to the service. Decided to take my parents there yesterday they came to visit from Orlando and they've said it's the best latin restaurant food they have tasted. Taste like home cooked, just like grandma use to do it. It's authentic, traditional and you won't regret it. My first visit i had steak and onions and second visit i had ropa vieja, both on point. Thank you Copacabana.
