Canopy Road Cafe — Restaurant in Florida

We had a very frustrating and disappointing experience here. We were initially told there would be a 15-minute wait, but we ended up waiting about 30 minutes just to be seated. Once we were finally taken to our table, no one greeted us or welcomed us—just handed us menus and walked away.

We sat at the table for another 30 minutes without anyone coming by to take our drink order or even acknowledge us. I tried to make eye contact with multiple staff members, but they all ignored us and instead were focused on bussing other tables and chatting with other guests. It was as if we were completely invisible.

Eventually, we flagged someone down, only to be told that we had somehow been forgotten. A staff member then came over and said they were short-staffed and actually closing—meaning they weren’t going to serve us at all. After over an hour of waiting, we were essentially told to leave.

As we walked out, we saw at least 8 other customers—who arrived after us—happily enjoying their food. This made the experience even more upsetting.

I understand that staff shortages happen, but the lack of communication, hospitality, and basic courtesy was unacceptable. We left feeling completely disregarded and unwelcome. Would not recommend based on...

Almost identical review to another one. Completely understaffed. Hostesses bussing all the tables. Servers standing around. 4 tables were cleared at once and we were sat first, yet three of the tables sat after us not only received drink orders to the table but food orders were placed before we were even greeted with a drink order or even a cup of water. As we looked at the wait staff during all this, 4 of them stood and stared at our table trying to decide which of them was going to take the table as it appears no one has sections as you’d expect at a typical restaurant. Lack of organization and management of the staff. Do not recommend unless you have at least double the time planned for a meal out to spare. Food was good. As soon as we walked in the hostess was extremely rude as if she was bothered that we came in ): gave us the biggest nasty face . We stayed because our kids were hungry and we had heard good things about the food . My husband order a chicken breakfast plate only to not get any chicken on it , we let our server know & she took the food away to show the cooks but it was clear there was no chicken . She thought maybe we were lying , she didn’t even offer to fix the plate . We thought it was weird .Overall the food had no flavor . As we were finishing our meal the same hostess that was rude proceeded to sweep the table behind me & kept hitting my chair with the broom!! Worst experience we’ve ever had & definitely will never be back & I don’t recommend this...
