The Captain D's in Orange Park has always had exemplary food and service for fast food. However my last visit will be just that...last. After ordering through the drive through and driving home through rush hour traffic some o,eour order was missing, I tried calling many times while eating to see what we needed to do to get a refund for the missing fish as none of us wanted to drive back in traffic. After the 5th time I gave up and decided I would stop there on the way home the next evening. The cashier listened to my request, want on serving other people and then whispered to the manager on duty, Ashlyn I believe was the managers name. She took my receipt from the cashier and without introduction, pleasantries, or anything she very rudely informs me that she cannot refund my money, and that I need to call the number on the receipt to speak to the general manager. I explained to her that after calling the store 5 xs with no answer I did indeed call and leave a message but that it had already been 24 hours and I had not received a return call. She said well you can only get a refund of you call within 30 minutes. I again tried to explain that I did and there was no answer or return call. She informed me that she is very busy and can't always answer the phone and that the gm was off. I told her I just wanted my money back and she said she could give me the missing fish, what am I going to do with the fish now, we wanted it with our dinner. She was so rude and lacking in any customer service skills that I asked her name She told me and then I told her that her customer service skills sucked, with that she replied raising her voice after me as I was leaving, "thanks for getting me in trouble" not quite sure where that came from as One would actually have to speak with her superior to get that satisfaction. I sat in the parking lot and called the gm again, again left a message and still 4 days later, yep, you guessed it, no return phone call. I will not give them another dime of my money as long as they employ ignorant people BUT I DO WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! So if anyone from Captain D's monitors their reviews I would greatly appreciate the return of my hard earned money as nominal as it may be. Ps both my daughter and I were very ill that night as well. My son fortunately did not get any of the bad food as his was fresh and good. I am saddened that one of my favorite places to eat is now on my boycott...
Read moreWe got the ultimate seafood platter $10 lots of food, fish , butterfly shrimp , popcorn shrimp,2stuffed crabs , hush puppies . Purchased drinks separately. Cook tonight over cooked the fish slightly but everything else was good. Only 2 employees working. Everything was going smooth orders were being filled in timely manner even with filling drive thru orders. Must have new management. Both employees polite. Cook came out and checked everything was okay. One thing you don’t do is complain over something small no telling what you get in replacement. And girl at front counter came and checked on us. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing . Good food and value .French fries were hot , broccoli was very fresh husband’s coleslaw was good I have to update my previous review. I have taken my 19 month old grandchild to this same location twice since original post. For our lunch date .Only to drive the 35 minute drive one way for the lobby to be closed and signs now posted lobby will not be open for entire month of April and possibly may. Reason girl working drive thru said is" we don't have any employees" It is very hard to feed a 19 month old lunch in the car very disappointed. Captain D's what is going on with customer service now , most of the employees working at this location now act like they don't care and they don't want to be there. Read moreService has gone down in the since my last visit came in placed my order have two things missing the server bringing out the food just dropped and ran didn't care to make sure it was correct or answer any questions. I would have recommended them but I feel you would get better service from somewhere else. Went in today( 12/29/2021) the door was unlocked when we walked up they stated the lobby was closed. When asked about the others in the dining area eating the front counter server went to ask the manager and she said that they were her family. Didn't realize that family could get to eat in the dining area of a restaurant that states it is closed. I can understand staff on break but extended family in there eating as any other customer and you turn away customers. If they where short staffed then I would also understand but they had 4 to 5 staff working and only drive-thru was open would definitely not recommend them they are the worst restaurant for Captain D's in Northeast Florida next time I will take the time to just go to the one on 103rd, Normandy, Edgewood, any of the others except this one. They have lost a customer for good now. Everyone beware if the manager on duty is willing to make that heard from the back loudly that you can't mistaken it then you should expect the customer service to be just as bad. I believe Corporate needs to step in and address why they are the only store that closes at 8 and always has their lobby closed yet have 4 to 5 staff...
