Two of us had dinner on a Friday evening. Place was not very busy so we were seated in a nice clean booth. Everything was clean and the décor was a budget conscious attempt at a French bistro which they pulled off quite well. The entire atmosphere is very bright and light which is a stark contrast to most dark-and-dreary French formal restaurants.
Overall the food was superb. We have been to just about all restaurants in the Naples area and this one easily ranks in the top three if not number one. And believe, we are picky! But you could tell that the chef at Chez Guy made everything fresh and also that they really cared about what they served.
My wife started with the Caesar salad which was served 'Heart' style and came with fresh French bread croutons and a wonderful and unusual dressing that I would love to get the recipe. Great salad and fantastic dressing.
I then had the escargot and they came out bubbling hot and the garlic butter and seasoning were off-the-chart good. Wonderful taste.
My wife then ordered the beef Bourginion which has a wonderful smoky flavor and came with fresh pasta and wonderful onions, mushrooms etc. An absolute delight and rare find for Naples.
I then had the Steak Tartare which was fresh filet mignon and you could tell it had just been made fresh. The taste was fantastic and just the right amount seasonings and capers. But there is more...
The Steak Tartare also came with French fries which were 100% fresh made and came out piping hot ... just perfect fries.
Also with the Steak tartar came a very nice garden salad with wonderful lettuce and arugula and radishes and the most amazing cream vinaigrette that I have had in a long time. Excellent again.
Overall Chez Guy was a great culinary experience. The house wines are also excellent (try the Bordeaux) and our entire bill was $100 for two with two glasses of wine, two appetizers and main courses. My wife got the $35/fixed menu special which is another money saver. Service was prompt and friendly.
Chez Guy is a great hidden gem in Naples and I highly recommend it. They make great food and you can tell they Really care about what...
Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The service and staff are friendly, helpful, and truly care about making your dining experience 5 star. The food was delicious and the presentation very well done. We ordered the escargot and warm goat cheese salad to start. Both were perfection. It had been a while since I had escargot, and it was prepared really well, and was very delicious. For the main course we ordered the Duck Leg Confit and Half Roasted Chicken. Again, both were very well done. The duck was crispy, with a wonderful sweet orange sauce. One of the best ducks we've had in a very long time. The Half Roasted Chicken was so good, seasoned with Rosemary and it was very tender. Then we were bad, and ordered the Warm Apple Tart and Almond Pear Tart. Both were served A La Mode w/Vanilla Ice Cream. Decadent and divine. The tart was so light, and crispy. Everything was homemade, fresh and authentic. You would not expect, that a French restaurant in a strip shopping center, would be this high quality, but we're so glad we went to Chez Guy in Naples FL. As a side note, from a safety standpoint, I rate them a 5/5. They have tables set up for outside dining, and they were spaced appropriately for safety. All of the wait staff wore masks, and we felt very safe at this establishment, from a Covid standpoint. Overall, our dining experience was top shelf. I would 100% go back to Chez Guy Parisian Bistro again, and highly recommend...
Read moreNAPLES DAILY NEWS Letters to the Editor Chez Guy: Revisited I spent 30 years eating my heart out in New York City, with French food a favorite and Michelin-star restaurants my journey. There are French restaurants in Naples. They're OK, and then I found Chez Guy. What? I can have its rustic cassoulet lunch six days a week? Sold! Not only did I taste the slightest hint of fennel in the sausage, but the sauce was rich and creamy, just as rustic cassoulet demands. And the duck confit? Wow, super crispy skin swathes the super dark duck meat that falls off the bone. And I mean three out of three times a week, but I obsess. Excuse me, "More crisp duck, please!" Now to the beef bourguignon over, yum, noodles. Unlike other French restaurants here in Naples, you can taste that a carrot is a carrot at Chez Guy and you can tell there are different taste elements in the dish. My meaning? It's not a bowl of one-note sauce. The meat falls apart: divine. Beauty is in the mouth of the beholder: Chez Guy's French onion soup "tastes" delectable. What more to say? Finally, a rich menu selection. We need to support our modest yet shining star secret restaurants in Naples. They have to survive the summer. I have nothing but rave reviews for Chez Guy. Please stay in business. I am in heaven. Winifred...
