I've been looking for authentic Dominican cuisine in the Miami area with little success. The Dominican restaurants/clubs focused more on selling drinks, loud music, party crowds & mediocre food, at high prices! SURPRISEāāāā DE LO MIO STREET FOOD is a food truck parked in an industrial center near Walmart in Miami Lakes. I found it thru Google. It's a little hard to find but worth the effort. Also they work 7p-12a 7 days a week. The menu is small but totally dynamite. Just order at the window, take a seat(plenty of tables), waiting time is 5-10 minutes as everything is made to order! I eaten decent Dominican "street food" in Queens, NY & in Santo Domingo,RD so I have an idea of what's authentic.
SO, I ordered the Real Chimiāāā(THIS IS THE KILLER, with the salad, sauce); Rebulu fries(loaded fries), Hot Dog (loaded homemade sausage)& Yucca Frita! WOW, a lot to eat so I took enough home for lunch the next day! Ask for their 2 homemade sauces to add to your food, I loved the green garlic sauce.
Extremely friendly staff with background music playing & a large exhaust fan to cool! The owner, Antonio is super. His wife is the cook!
Remember that most food is made to order so you may have a 5-15 wait!
Without question this food is the BEST, hot, juicy, huge portions @...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen it comes to dominican street food I had try a lot, and so far this is my favorite.
I had taste everything in their Menu and everything is delish.
I love the fact that any day you go, they food will taste and look the same.
My favorite is the rebulu fries. Every time I go to this place I HAVE TO ORDER ONE. This fries are just amazing. If I come here and dont order them is like I never came. This is a must try!
Their new chimi 4k is amazing. Has meat, fried cheese, bacon, sweet plantains and egg. A real explosion of flavors.
They are located in a plaza so there is plenty space to park and is safe. You can see sometimes the polices officers doing rounds around here and I like this.
The staff is amazing. Starting with Temis, the owner, and Norma who is always busy in the grill.
If you havent try them what are you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām from DR living in FL for several years already and one of the things I miss the most from my country is our local street food, specially a really good chimichurri burger. So Iāve been looking for a good Dominican street food for a while, tried many others places but the flavors or preparation were honestly not up to the standards I was looking for. Until, not so long ago, got to meet De Lo MĆo, finally⦠my search ended. This place is incredibly good! Everything is so fresh and tasty. Exactly how I remember the street food from our island. I couldnāt ask for more....
