I must say it was shocking what we went through at this Denny's!!!! My husband and I have been here on numerous occasions and never faced this situation. I will begin by saying that the restaurant was definitely at a down time, as you enter the restaurant the section to the right was closed. To start our server,Carly, barely sat us when she was rushing to get our order. After a few minutes we placed our order and waited for over a half hour to get it. During our wait we noticed an older African American, sort of wiping tables and walking around, walk a family to a table. We thought to ourselves that the restaurant was short in staff because the utility person was helping the servers. We observed this man complaining to another server as to why we were at the booth. We then saw him go into the kitchen, not even sure if he washed his hands, try to assist the cook. We observed him grab an item with his bare hands, throw it in a bowl, cough over it and throw the item on the grill--this is when we called over a server who by the way was trying to find out what had happened to our order, and she informed us he was the General Manager. OMG this is when my husband and I almost lost it. This man needs to be retrained as a General Manager! This server,I am very sorry I never got her name, tried her best to be so helpful and nice. Carly was lost in space! Once we got our order - it was even worse. My double cheeseburger had bacon which I never order for I can't have it and 12 french fries. My husband received a salad plate with 2 fried eggs,a soup bowl with red skin potatoes and the ham and toast appeared on separate plates eventually. I am sorry I didn't take pictures but I was so mad that I couldn't even think. I did ask my husband for us to leave but he wanted to show this man that we were better than that!!! I would like to conclude by stating that he needs to be retrained and told to let his staff do their job and not interfere. If he feels the need to assist them he must follow proper HACCP procedures!!! By the way after we complained and before we left we saw him put gloves on- REALLY- the damage was...
Read moreUsually decent on many occasions and always treated right, this past Sunday 2/19 was not it. One waitress to cover many tables, takeout, and delivery options meant you were either waiting or your food was going to show up cold.
You can never choose where to sit as they are always "deep cleaning" a certain section forcing you to sit elbow deep with everyone else making dining uncomfortable as we were all pushed together to, what I assume, make it easier on the one waitress working so if you wanted a table you were out of luck. No straws, missing items on our table, ketchup bottle near empty, no extra napkins.
During our wait for food, someone complained about the deplorable condition of the men's bathroom which the manager noted and sent an employee to clean it. After emptying the trash can and slinging a greasy wet mop around the floor, it was considered like new, it was not. Urinals filled with paper towels, toilet seats looking like a hand grenade went off near them, and lack of soap in the dispensers. Someone on staff isn't checking or caring about the facility past the kitchen, which coincidentally was lacking as well.
Food finally arrived, cheese sticks were cold and barely cooked. They should be hot and crispy not merely taking a quick dip around the fryer oil. Salads were minimal but tasted off as if they were on the way to going bad. Sandwiches were absolutely horrible. Brisket was nubs, no sauce, pickles tasted like old cleaning solution stuffed into a dirty pair of sneakers. Pot roast was bland and rubbery.
Instant stomach regret, unfulfilling, sad. This place may have better days so diners beware, you may get a decent experience, a clean bathroom, and food that doesn't test the intestinal fortitude of your stomach, or you might end up needing a shot of tequila with a Pepto chaser afterwards. YMMV. 2 stars because the young waitress tried but was clearly not prepared for running the show by herself and at least she did deliver an extra soda to the table in the off chance we...
Read moreWent with the wife to Denny's ordered a orange smoothie which came as a liquid milky thin drink that was definitely not a smoothie when I asked the waitress to bring me something else she had an attitude and said what am I supposed to do with this and then she said well I know it's a little bit thin when I showed her the picture of what the smoothie was supposed to look like on the menu she said well I know it's thin she knew it was a thin drink why would she bring it to me she was lazy she had an attitude and she was not a cool person at all I don't know if she was having a bad day but the food was mediocre and that's it man I wasn't happy at all and my wife and I go to that Denny's quite often and it seems like every time I order an orange smoothie somebody there always they all make it differently there's one man there that can make it correctly and make it the way the menu looks and it's with how it's supposed to taste other than that I have sent back my smoothies several times with several different waitresses and waiters they really need to train somebody there on how to make the correct smoothie because when it is made correctly it is damn good and I mean damn good that is the number one reason I go to Denny's is for that orange smoothie so when it comes to me and it's not correct it instantly has my appetite suppressed and I really don't even feel like eating there after that and the other day that waitress really ruined my appetite with absolutely nothing in it that tasted like an orange smoothie it looks like rotten milk and like she squeezed a little bit of orange juice into it it was gross it was warm and it definitely was not what I am used to a smoothie being she really messed my day up and believe it or not still left the woman a $10 tip which I insisted that she doesn't leave...
