Unfortunately, tonight was not the best night in this place. My husband asked as a main entry” Pescado a lo macho “ . He finished his meal, and after five to ten minutes of waiting for his coffee, he started to feel sturdy colic, try to stay calm to see if the discomfort has passed, but no, the problem was about to begin.
We left the restaurant, and his symptoms worsened in a second, such as nausea, Severe cramping, face flushing, burning hands, palpitations, shaking, diarrhea, dry mouth, and a metallic taste, after several diarrheas= mucus and blood in the stool. FYI - He is not allergic to seafood - shellfish
He is a doctor. I’m an ANP, and my daughter is in nursing school. He has seafood poisoning. Fortunately, we had the treatment at home , but we could only alleviate some symptoms, he is still battling with the rest.
I called the restaurant to give a heads-up about the situation and could take action with their seafood, but Pamela - an employee*decided to contact the manager and hung up the phone. She never takes time or the manager to return my call in case the call was disconnected by mistake.
It could be a good idea to educate the employees who are handily the food about food compliance and staff in front of the house on how to treat restaurant customers when they...
Read moreIf you are looking for a large dining space and white table cloth, you may think is not the place; but if good quality and innovating avant garde peruvian flavor is your interest, then this small and cozy restaurant is the right place! Started with a cuzqueña beer and marajito (passion fruit flavored pisco) with a little sampling taste of leche de tigre (ceviche milk) and the salty canchitas. Perfect to keep you entertained and thirsty for more beer. I had the day special: parrilla de mariscos (seafood grill). Tasty and well-seasoned fish chunks, shrimp, and calamari presented in bruschetta skewers grilled to perfection. Charred potatos and corn as sides with two sauces: cheesy and spicy. My two companions have pescado a lo macho (fish fillet in creamy cheese sauce) and maki salmon which is a type of causa (potato mash) presented sushi style. All dishes were delicious, perfectly executed, flavorfull, and appealing. No room for dessert this time but they have a great selection of peruvian sweet treats. Defenitely a great experience. We have been patrons for years and will continue to be. Kudos to the chef and his growing venture here in SoFlo...
Read moreIt was a bad experience for us. First, I called to ask if they had a portion of fried calamari, they said yes, it's $15. We went here and ordered our meals which included a portion of fried calamari, but half calamari and half shrimp. They bring the check $ 100.00 and I saw they charged $25 for the calalamari. I complained of course and the waitress gave me an absurd explanation. I asked for the manager and explained what happened. He says let me see what I can do and came back with a new check indicating that he was gracious enough to give us 15% of the total check. Only this time surpringly was $107 with the supossedly 15% discount to what i said, it was $100 and now with the discount is $107 ??? What the manager actually did, is add a ceviche $20 and from that new total, he overrides a discount. I complained of course and he removed the ceviche that he added and was never ordered. Then he stood right next to me, like on my face waiting for me to add the tip. I was so upset and uncomfortable and on top of this unacceptable, deceiving action from the manager, I had to tip the unreasonable waitres and the deceiving manager. I will never...
