Drowsy Poet at Airport — Restaurant in Florida

Let me preface by saying I am typically not one to go out of my way to write a negative review. And frankly, I was very excited to try this place given the great reviews. So this was a huge disappointment for me.

I ordered a simple cafe latte with oat milk to focus on the coffee flavor itself. When I got home to try it I noticed that the cup was only filled about 2/3 of the way, effectively giving me a 12 oz size though I paid for the 16. That by itself isn’t all that bad to me but the drink itself was also unacceptable. Honestly, it tasted like warm sugar water..I really got no coffee or bean flavor and even the oat milk tasted watered down and didn’t give that creaminess that oat milk usually does. My boyfriends drink was also a similar experience. It was bad enough that we ended up just making our own coffee at home and tossing it. Not sure if this was just a fluke and I’d like to hope that it was but still felt like I should share...

I drove up and was immediately greeted by the sweetest woman I have ever encountered. I wish all my reviews started off like that. This woman was genuinely nice, and was great at her job! She made me an Americana because I usually just drink regular coffee and didn't know what to pick. It was the best cup I have ever drank hands down. It was such a great atmosphere that I ordered a cheese Danish just to tip her because she rung me up and closed out my ticket before I got a chance to on my coffee. I will be coming back just because of her greeting and friendly attitude. I wish I had gotten her name so she can get the credit she is due. I ordered around 4:00 pm 10/19/22 on Davis Hwy next to the Raceway at I-10. Thank you for the coffee and keep up the wonderful attitude. Drowsy poet is one of my favorite coffee spots and I have never had issues. Service and food is always great. But I went to the airport location and asked for a regular size and the lady with the face piercing was very condescending. I said regular instead of saying medium. She seemed aggravated when I asked about what size the drinks were. Her mannerisms were not nice and she seemed inconvenienced to have to explain them to me. I’m sorry all these coffee shops have different ways of saying their sizings. It was off putting and I don’t know if her attitude went into the drink but it was not as good as it usually is. I hope her day gets better. The other girl working was very nice...
