Waitress was super kind along with the bartender, but that's unfortunately where the grace ends.
The bread and butter isn't too bad, but its nothing special and I'm personally more inclined to go to Texas Roadhouse for a better bread. Overall a 6/10 tasty, but nothing special.
The appetizer I got was the sampler with cheese fries, blooming onion pieces, and some mozzarella boomerangs/sticks. The fries were nothing spectacular and came with a basic ranch. Nothing of note with them, taste the same as basically every other steakhouse or roadhouse around here. The blooming onion was more crisp and crust rather than flavor and onion along with being very bland. The sauce for the blooming onion tasted like thousand island sauce with a cup of vinegar poured on top. The mozzarella boomerangs/sticks were pretty disappointing being rather hollow compared to their size with all the cheese ending up on one end or the other rather than being distributed throughout the entire stick. The marinera sauce was bad. It was like water with tomatoes and herbs that completely broke down the mozz sticks and made them hard to eat with it. Overall a 4/10 not impressive and honestly felt overpriced for how hyped up it was.
I also ordered a 13oz ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and the Tasmanian chili. The chili actually came out before my appetizer so I didn't get to eat it with my entree. It had some pretty big chunks of meat and no real other points of focus being basically a general chili stock with chunks of meat I'm assuming was steak because of how chewy it was. Overall a solid 5/10 nothing special and had an okay kick.
The ribeye and mashed potatoes came out together. The presentation was pathetic. There was a layer of oil on the steak like it had been resting in a vat of bacon grease and the potatoes looked just scooped on with a portion scooper. The potatoes were flavorless, having no clear signs of seasoning or even an attempt to make a notable side dish to compliment the steak. The ribeye was the most disappointing part of my day. It was 70% fat, 30% meat with the meat available being extremely bland. I actually found myself dipping the steak into the sauces from my appetizers just to get some kind of flavor. And to make it worse it was extremely chewy even though it was a basic medium-rare steak. The entree was a sad 3/10 overall.
Overall a 4/10 on a good day. Great place with kind people, but I don't suggest going there if you're looking for a well flavored steak or anything...
Read moreIm not one to typically write reviews- but I definitely felt like this one was deserving of one.
Went to the Pensacola Outback on June 1st, and left completely disappointed. The best part of the meal was our 3rd soda as the first two were flat- somehow third stole the show with the proper amount of carbonation. (We had 3 sodas through the whole time as we also waited 40 minutes for our food).
We ordered:
The blooming onion for an appetizer @ 10.99- It was overly battered, overly peppered (& I like pepper), and seemed to be cooked in old oil & cooked too long. The slices of onion were the skinniest pieces of onion so you were essentially just eating nasty batter. Definitely do not recommend.
The Kingsland pasta at 23.99- the Alfredo sauce was separated and watery. The flavor- meh. The “steak” seemed like it was pounded to hell as it was undercooked mush. Honestly, the shrimp looked crusty enough for us to not even attempt it.
The Outback Trio: The blooming’ burger- had the same gross blooming onions on it. The burger was cooked to a dry brick. Not sure why anyone would cook a burger to that level of done. I’m assuming as we waited for so long for our food, it just sat on a grill for that long. lol It was so salty and dry- the pickles? I am guessing they make in house because they were just cucumbers but with no pickles flavor. Maybe I assumed they were supposed to be pickles but are in fact just supposed to be cucumbers? The fries were meh. Nothing too wrong with them but also not the best. The salad that came with my meal, had brown wilted romaine lettuce. The dessert was a cheesecake slice that the server had forgotten to give to us, we did end up remembering right before leaving and had them send it to go- so we haven’t ate it yet and it looks alright as they definitely in frozen this from a box and was not made in house. So that’s probably okay.
The server was okay though, she did her job. Not much more to say about that.
Would not recommend. Would not go back. Wish I had...
Read moreMy husband and I have a nice long history with Outback. For the last 6 years we'd go after a long day of work to relax and enjoy ourselves. Tonight's experience ruined Outback for us completely. I'll start with what was honestly good. Their fries, ranch and steamed vegetables. That's it.
Now, once we arrived we were sat pretty quick. It was almost 10 minutes before our order was taken. It was 15 minutes after that before we even got our drinks. As we continued to wait people who came in after us and ordered after us received their order. It was 43 minutes later that we finally received our food. I ordered the prime rib sandwich on a toasted baguette and my husband ordered the caramel mustard glazed pork chops. They sounded amazing. My sandwich was so mushy. Imagine a wet bun. No signs of being toasted ever. My husband received the pork chops, but the manager said he couldn't find the glaze that goes with it. So he had plain pork chops (which were still good but he was also super hungry after almost 45 minutes.) Why they felt it was acceptable to serve a dish without its main and star component, I will never understand. I would be embarrassed as chef to allow that to leave the kitchen. I would have informed my guest and suggested another delicious dish. To be fair, after almost 45 minutes of waiting, even if they did that I would have walked out anyway.
I couldn't eat my sandwich so they took that off the bill. Here's the cherry on top. They charged us full price for my husband's incomplete dish. The manager didn't even care to speak with us directly. We were told the manager wanted to offer a free desert, but we just wanted to leave at that point. I'm so disappointed. Please think twice before trying to come here, especially if you've...
