El Punto Sandwich Cafe — Restaurant in Florida

Update: 12/29/23 Ordered a cubano again this visit and it was perfecto!! Meats were flavorful and seasoned well. Friendly service again :) I noticed this time they had table numbers available for customers waiting for food orders and window seating that was designed for young children. Very family friendly.

I’m in visiting family and take quality coffee serious. Google search led me to El Punto Sandwich Cafe. I appreciated having the option to order online. Good variety of sandwiches and drinks. The website kindly asked for 30 minutes to prepare my order. I ordered at 1:57p and arrived after 2:30p. My cubano was ready and nicely wrapped to eat on the go, still perfectly hot. The sandwich is a generous size, kindly pre-cut for me. One of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve had, the bread was fresh and held together well the meat juices and sauce. The meats were delicious and seasoned. One note, I like salt and this was a bit salty for me after a couple bites.

I also ordered a cappuccino that was made to order when I arrived. I was asked how much sugar I would like and if I wanted whip cream. I appreciated having the option. The cap was fantastic. Smooth and hot.

Lastly, the ladies preparing my order were helpful and welcoming. The cafe was clean, the decor and music reminded me of a little slice of PR, like walking into a family’s shop.

So glad to find this cafe convenient to my family’s home...

Ambiance - awesome. Great vibe, great feel, great look. Love the open window to the kitchen and the music is always playing. Prices feel a little inflated, but it’s a crazy Covid world still. I get it.

Food - FANTASTIC! Hubby and I could have shared a sandwich and been full by it. Flavors are on point. Hubby wanted a delicious dessert and it didn’t disappoint.

Drinks - we didn’t get our food for 15 minutes which was totally fine, but then we didn’t get our hot beverages until 15-20 minutes AFTER our food was already gone. They don’t have a great system in working order yet, because the server/cashier also had to ask us what we had ordered. She then returned to the table AGAIN to find out again. Thankfully we live local and weren’t in a rush, the service just needs some fine tuning. They just need some guidance or extra support.

I know this place will do just fine, and I’ll definitely be back, but probably...

When they first opened the food was amazing, their service was exceptional and everything would come out on point. A few months in, I am not sure what happened but food portions got small, prices increased, they got forgetful on giving you the drinks you ordered and food always comes out wrong. My husband and I ordered a scrambled eggs with bacon and a side of bacon. We did not receive any of the bacon. We didn't bother to check the bag because they were usually good about getting things right the first time. (Drove home and came back) and when remade they left the ham in the eggs and just scrambled bacon into it. Eggs were overcooked. As for my order, I asked for an omelet and it literally looked like a pancake as well as burnt. I just asked for my money back and made my own breakfast at home. Love this place and they vibe is amazing but it's time to step your game up like...
