Elmo's Rock Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

Definitely not my kind of place, it's pretty much a "biker bar" and please don't mistake that as a derogatory description. I've known enough and have had enough positive interaction with bikers to know that the majority are amazing people and don't deserve the stereotype stamped on them. I can empathize as I've also had a pigeonhole stamp on me as well most of my life, so find it pretty easy to look past the stereotyping of any individual or group. That being said, I had one of the best burgers I've ever had here and can't wait to go back!

My husband and I went with his brother and wife for lunch. The place is in a strip mall in Boynton Beach off Military Trail. The interior was pretty dark, a few customers at the bar and The Who's music filled the atmosphere. We took a table and our server came over and greeted us and struck up a conversation with my brother inlaw, as they go there often and are the kind of folks that know the employees by name and are friendly with them right down to the kitchen staff.

Our server was professional, friendly, with a quick wit and looked like she belonged. I ordered the Blu cheese burger and frys. There was also a basket of fried mushrooms for the table and they were probably the best fried mushrooms I have ever eaten. Nicely seasoned batter that was light and slightly crisp, served with a good horseradish sauce. It was a great start.

My Blu cheese burger arrived shortly and had a thick layer of high quality, slightly melted blue cheese on top. I felt no need to add any condiments as I wanted the full, as it comes flavor. I was glad I made that choice as it was the best Blu cheese burger I had ever eaten. There was only one thing I could criticize, I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. I'm assuming this happened when the cook melted the cheese on the burger under the broiler. The extra heat overcooked the meat a bit. It was still an amazing burger dispite this. I will definitely get it again, except order it rare next time. Not a big deal. Frys were good as was the entire experience.

The music throughout consisted of popular classic rock tunes which I found good to hear again over a great sound system! We will definitely return for more great food, I'm anxious to try...

The bar itself is ok a little too smokey for me but I did like that u could play jukebox for music n Alex was nice but today I went there n the bartender was very gruff dont know her name but she has all tattoos on her dark hair maybe in her 40s anyways I ordered a glass of wine drank it n then was leaving but I talked to some nice ppl on the way out n then she came over to me m kicked me out. It seems like there's alot of jealousy with women there also very rude obnoxious servers n men that are pretty rude I won't be going back dont worry its a waste of my time to be treated that way is not worth it. Maybe if you could get better ppl to work there id consider patronizing the place. I did like Timmy the cook his chili was good but the bartender today is not a pleasant person and scary. I like southern hospitality in places but I guess theres none there...sorry good luck wuthur business perhaps the owner should watch cameras to see what's going...

I'm not much of a bar person but I did wander in the other night. Inquired about the food and spoke to a patron that said the food was excellent. I just haven't tried anything. This place seems to cater to an older more mature crowd, of course I can't really say it's always like that because I was only there the other night and one previous visit before that. What's struck me was the bartender being overworked. Perhaps she likes it that way and perhaps by eliminating any competition from another bartender or fellow employees she's making more money in gratuities. However, it's a really large bar and I noticed that she even left the bar area to attend to some tables across from the bar and constantly running with no time to chat with anyone.
