When we chose Tripletail Seafood & Spirits for our anniversary dinner, we expected a lovely evening, but what we received was far beyond our wildest expectations. As we stepped inside, the ambiance immediately whispered of elegance and sophistication, hinting at the culinary journey ahead. The meticulously set tables, soft lighting, and subtle background music created a serene atmosphere that was just the beginning.
The menu, a reflection of both innovation and tradition, showcased seafood dishes that seemed to tell stories of the ocean's vastness and depth. Each course we ordered was an ode to culinary mastery, reminiscent of the caliber one might find in world-renowned Michelin-starred establishments. The presentation was a visual treat, and the flavors danced on the palate, harmoniously blending both familiar and exotic notes.
But even with such exquisite fare, it was the staff that elevated our experience to new heights. Their attentiveness was neither intrusive nor distant—striking that perfect balance that's so hard to achieve. They were knowledgeable, recommending wines that paired beautifully with our choices and sharing insights about the dishes' origins and preparation techniques.
The highlight of the evening, however, came when we were presented with complimentary desserts, a thoughtful gesture to honor our special occasion. It wasn't just the sweetness of the desserts, but the sweetness of the gesture that touched our hearts.
In a world where dining out has become more about convenience than experience, Tripletail Seafood & Spirits stands as a testament to the art of true hospitality. It's not merely a place to eat, but a destination where memories are crafted, and every detail is curated with passion. We left with full bellies, grateful hearts, and an eagerness to return and...
Read moreEnjoyed the first time visit. We were seated at the best table in the house outside in front of the waterfall. Great atmosphere and the waitress, she was friendly and fantastic. Service was quick and hardly had to wait.
For the food, some mixed feelings. Caesar salad was spot on. And the bread and butter was a nice compliment to the meal while we waited for the entrees to arrive.
My wife had the crab stuffed tripletail. That was delicious and the presentation was very nice. The sauce was really tasty and came with a citrus cream sauce that added the perfect compliment to the dish.
I had the shrimp and scallops combo, grilled. Was not impressed at all. The shrimp was overcooked and had zero seasoning. No salt or pepper, just plain. The scallops were tiny and also absent of any flavor. Zero seasoning. And they were only seared on one side. Both were simply dry and lacked any flavor. The dish came with a strange tartar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce. Appetizer sauces. It would have made more sense to compliment the shrimp and scallops with the citrus sauce or even drizzle it over them to add a delicious touch of flavor. The chef could have at least brushed the shrimp and scallops with butter or olive oil, maybe a little salt and pepper, or a touch of garlic.
I felt a bit disappointed with my meal. Considering the prices, it should be flavorful, done to perfection, be nice portions and have a inviting presentation. Missed the mark on all with this dish. At nearly forty a plate on average, you should get something better than what you can make at home yourself.
We might go back, and if we did, I wouldn't order any shrimp or scallops. I can certainly make them better myself. I would recommend the crab stuffed...
Read moreI recently traveled to Sarasota and had dinner at Tripletail. My friend and I had eaten at other high end seafood restaurants while I was in town but this restaurant gets the best marks! I enjoyed a fabulous spinach salad (sans red onions) with a piece of grilled mahi. Wow! My mahi was over the top good. In fact PERFECT. I have eaten fresh fish literally all over the world and by far this was the best fresh catch I have ever eaten. And I’m picky! The salad dressings were also delicious. I opted for two; blue cheese and balsamic and requested them on the side. My Whispering Angel rosé was a delightful accompaniment. My friend had beautifully roasted vegetables with the grilled mahi. He was also very impressed with his meal. The bread service was a treat with two butter options, the second being a seasonal butter. I only wish our server, Angie had been more pleasant but it certainly didn’t take away anything from the chef’s talents or our overall dining experience. The hostess who seated us was delightful so she set the tone nicely. I loved the decor particularly the waterfall feature and the very attractive and comfortable chairs. Don’t overlook their details either….the grey and white striped table linens are fabulous! This is a great ambiance for any occasion. A must go to spot! I will return when back in Sarasota. Kudos to Team Tripletail. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m back in SRQ and now Tripletail is open for lunch. We went after church and Matt was our server. Obviously an incredible training program and good working environment because their staff is incredibly professional and...
