Fornello’s is located in the Somerset Shoppes at the corner of Glades and Lyons in the set-back area near where TJ Maxx is located. This great pizzeria is my new go-to place not only for pizza but for really delicious and plentiful Italian food...but with a Brazilian flair! If you so desire. The pizza is delicious!! It has a perfect crust, not too thick or too thin, nice and cheesy and whatever topping you choose is applied liberally to the entire face of the pie!! They even have a pizza with a scrumptious cauliflower crust! You just have to try it!! As far as the dishes are concerned I have never seen such ample portions! My favorites are the stuffed eggplant, you can’t find better anywhere, and the chicken parmigiana but they have a full menu of wonderful dishes such as Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Veal Parmigiana, Chicken Francese and many more...preceded by wonderful soups or salad if you prefer and garlic rolls. The portions are so large, I take home more than I am able to eat!! There are so many other typical Italian and not-so-typical dishes...because the owners and chef are Brazilian. I haven’t tried the Brazilian dishes yet but they look amazing. For my next visit to Fornello’s I look forward to trying some of their Brazilian faire and I know I won’t be disappointed!! Give this new, great, little place a try....I am sure you’re going...
Read moreMy friends and I went to Fornello because we wanted to try their Pastel - A classic Brazilian street food with Asian roots. We decided to go experience it for ourselves since we got mixed reviews about the place and their pastel. Overall we had a good experience. The service was ok, they were nice and made suggestions. The dough was great, exactly as I remember from the farmers market every Thursday but the filling lacks art. Not that there wasn’t enough filling, there was plenty and if you are a cheese pastel lover you will really enjoy this place because they don’t skimp on the cheese. I wish I could say the same about the other savory flavors we tried. The hearts of palm was just that…chopped with no seasoning and you can add cheese. My favorite chicken with catupiry was exactly that, a piece of boiled chicken breast and catupiry…not really shredded and no seasoning. The desert pastéis (more than one pastel) are to die for!!! We ordered 4 flavors and even though they mixed up our banana with dulce de leche for banana and cheese there was not a crumble to tell a story. I would probably go back for the cheese pastel, to try the meat one and off course the banana and dulce de leche I didn’t get...
Read moreWorst experience we've ever had at Fornello's. We ordered delivery and received what I thought would be food. The pizza was cold and undercooked, with a bland taste. We just couldn't eat it, it was so bad. How could the pizza be so cold when our home is 5 minutes away from the store? And the mozzarrella sticks were also cold, undercooked without any crunch--it was like eating limp string cheese. The garlic rolls weren't garlic rolls--they were dinner rolls. Our family was so disappointed--all that money and time gone to waste. What happened to the once-great Fornello's? We supported them during the rough times of Covid and never expected this type of service! I'm so sad to have to leave a negative review for a place that was once so good. They have gone downhill and sadly it cost us $50 to find out. We threw out the entire order--pizza, mozzarella sticks, garlic rolls--in the GARBAGE !
See the pics we left. We highly recommend you think twice before ordering delivery from Fornello's. You broke our hearts, you took our money, and you...
