This place has always been my family's go-to when in Orlando. Always this location. Never again! The snarky young girl with glasses has created a completely different experience for me this time around. Previously there was a lovely middle-aged lady that was warm and welcoming, which is part of why we always returned. The new girl completely swindled me into an $8 Chai Latte!!! I ordered a MEDIUM chai Latte, which read $4.25 on the menu. I said .75c is a little steep for oatmilk, but sure... give me oatmilk. Then I asked for ice. She said, "Oh! We put the iced chai in this kind of cup. Is that ok?" It was a thicker plastic cup and kind of small, but I didn't see the big deal and said, "yeah, ok". We get to the register and she says $8.25. I was flabbergasted. How is $4.25 + .75c = $8.25. Apparently ice jumps up $3. She never mentioned that at all!!! I told her that's insane. She said, Oh well! with a nasty smirk and pointed to the board. It says iced 16oz $7.60. I never ordered a 16oz Large, so I had no idea she was giving me that. Especially since it looks like a small/medium cup. It is 50% ice, 48% oat milk and maybe 2 light pumps of chai syrup. Pissed is an understatement. It's like the girl got a kick out of the switcheroo. She knew exactly what she was doing not mentioning the price or size difference. They just lost a...
Read moreFirst time going there and had a horrible experience! We spent $60 there on various drinks and pastries. One of the drinks that my pregnant daughter ordered tasted bad (as in spoiled) so she asked the young employee to exchange it (he was actually polite, nice and accommodating). We weren’t asking for a refund, just a remake. He was going to do it until this lady comes from the back and proceeds to argue with my daughter and telling her that they can’t remake it unless they charge for another one. She was rude and argumentative. She tells us that it’s not her problem my daughter has “bad taste” (among other things). But that wasn’t the problem, the problem was the product they used was spoiled. She scolds the young kid in front of everyone and goes to the back. After we apologize to the young man (we didn’t want him to get in trouble) she comes running back to the front to argue with us some more. She needs to learn how to deal with her customers and employees. We will never go back! And I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful night in a beautiful town. To make it worse, the pastries fell...
Read moreDisappointing Service & Quality at Fortuna Bakery
I was looking forward to a great experience at Fortuna Bakery, but unfortunately, the service fell short. As customers, we expect to receive the correct order, but I was given the wrong food, despite clear labeling. The staff seemed distracted and uninterested, with one employee on his phone while assisting me—hardly the level of attentiveness one would hope for.
On top of that, the natural mango juice was incredibly disappointing—watery and lacking any real flavor. When I went back to explain the issue so it wouldn’t happen to someone else, I wasn’t acknowledged or apologized to. Instead, I was told the employee who helped me was new, and that I should speak with the manager in the morning. The lack of accountability and training was evident, especially when the employee responded dismissively with, “Are you done, or is there something else you want?”
Overall, this experience made it clear that better training and customer service are needed. Hopefully, management will take steps to improve these concerns because customers...
