Extremely disappointed in the poor service I received today. I’ve been a customer of fresh kitchen for years since they opened, and I’ve always received great service. I consistently ordered the same thing as well in my many visits. I recently moved away from the area and normally come in to eat at the Lake Mary location at least once whenever I’m in town. Today I was denied a simple request of receiving plain spinach in my bowl. This had never happened before and I was shocked. I ended up leaving and calling another location and asking if there is some new company policy against it and was told no there is no policy and it depends on the manager there if they are willing to accommodate someone’s dietary needs, and that something as simple as grabbing a handful of spinach from the back is no big deal. Then I called Lake Mary and spoke to the assistant manager (Mara) and she was very adamant that they canNOT let people have plain spinach or kale because they have to be “consistent” in what they offer at their restaurant. I tried explaining I’ve been here many times and never been denied this request, and she told me there is new management at this location. I asked for clarification that they are willing to lose a long time customer over a handful of spinach and she basically said yes. I don’t have an allergy to their spinach mix, but the sour sauce they put on it is extremely unappetizing. And as a person trying to eat healthy, not having greens in my meal simply isn’t an option. My first experience with this location was yesterday (10/18) because I just found out there was a location about 20 minutes from my job. Feeling nostalgic and craving a bowl, I went after work but was sad to find out they were out of the noodles. Bummer but no big deal; I understand supply chain is crazy right now or they could’ve just run out. I left without getting anything with the plan to call before I go next time. Next time was today (10/19) because I still wanted those noodles. I called after I went on break at 12 and the young lady over the phone confirmed that they indeed had the noodles (yay!). I happily bopped up there and ask for a 6 bowl and (screeching halt), the young man informed me they were in fact out of noodles. I’m like, that’s wild because I literally just called and was told you did :( He replied “we’re all on the same page here” looking around at the staff “no one could’ve told you that” I respond I can show you the call from mere minutes ago. I already accepted I wasn’t going to get the noodles. What I couldn’t accept was the lack of acknowledgment or apology from the gentleman (who I presume was management) that basically called me a liar then rushed me to make a choice on a bowl base (no one was in line in from of me or behind). Read moreFirstly I want to start off saying that I love fresh kitchen and i was super excited when the lake Mary location opened! They are wonderfully setup to keep customers and their employees safe with distance markers, masks and of course there is glass between us and them while ordering. I love the food, it is absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to return☺️
That being said, my experience to night was just..annoying for lack of better words. I tried to order on the website multiple times with two different phones and there was an error. So I after multiple tries I just decided to go inside. When I got in I was treated by a very kind employee, when asked about my bases I asked for 3 since I wasn’t getting a veggie and I wanted to replace one of my veggies with a base. She then told me she couldn’t replace a veggie with a base which I have done before but I didn’t argue. When I was asked what veggies I wanted I told stated I didn’t want any veggies and then she asked me if I wanted to replace my 2 veggies with 2 bases instead.......I would say there was some confusion because the music is a little loud so it’s hard to hear but, she had previously told me I couldn’t then told me I could. A little annoying.
Overall my food is delicious, the store is clean & covid safe and the staff was super friendly. The loud music, faulty website and the confused employee just made me slightly dissatisfied. It won’t keep me from coming...
