Update to the reply that laughably said they ādid their researchā into pricing⦠Iāve lived in many places in the world including Hawaii which being very close to Japan, is where youāll get as close as you can get to real ramen. Itās also significantly the most expensive state to live in the US, including Florida. Rent there for a not even 900 sq ft apartment was $2150 in 2019. Our favorite location in Honolulu who house made their broth, noodles, etc is $12 for the same size bowl of Shoyu. And they use actual ramen noodles. Our favorite place more locally, currently, is much better, and STILL .50 cents less for the same size bowl and also use actual ramen noodles. Please do some legitimate research and create better food before attempting to say the prices are justified for the watered down salt soup you call broth and using curly thick āramenā noodles. Our second favorite place (only because itās so much farther) also house makes their broth (for hours) and noodles (again, actual ramen noodles) is still, an entire dollar cheaper and is again, much better. If this review was taken a bit better with less denial and you updated how things were made/ recipes, sure. Weād come try again. But given the fact you ādisagreeā about how expensive your awful ramen is because you apparently did some sort of research that was quite obviously incorrect, and when it took 5 minutes of research on just google that people who make decent ramen and even house make their own noodles and make their broth for hours are cheaper? Thatās A LOT more labor and equipment. Zero chance. Not even my garbage disposal of a husband would finish his food or even wanted to bring it home and he eats literally anything. I donāt give negative reviews unless itās deserved but that reply made it 3 fold deserved. Own up to your mistakes as a restaurant/ new business. It happens. You learn from it and move on. You did not do that here. $45 for shoyu, gyoza, and steak rice that had zero flavor when I can get my favorite places same meal in Honolulu for 34.50 and my favoriteās in Jax for 35.99 and our second places for 35.
Very disappointed in the food and the amount we paid for everything, absolutely not worth it. All the food was incredibly bland and just to get a taste of something I had to add at least 2 spoons of chili oil to my ramen. I had gotten the shoyu ramen and my husband got the steak rice and he said his was also incredibly bland. Our waitress was very very sweet though and Iām still amazed how she dealt with the middle school girl next to our table being rude and obnoxious. The atmosphere to me says āpeople like anime now and therefor ramen/ Japanese food and weāre going to make mid par food to make some money.ā We will however not be returning and will not advise anyone to go here for actual good ramen. Way too expensive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm currently typing this reclined in my car in the parking lot of the shopping center where this absolute gem of a restaurant is now calling home. The food belly is strong with this one. Where do I even start.
Parking is easy, huge lot for the center to thank there - despite going at dinner time it was easy to get something close (maybe that's just cause it's Tuesday). The menu is diverse but still concise, just one double sided paper that promises a whole lot of flavor. I got the chicken karrage (decent portion, good to split so you have room for your main - served with I think shrimp sauce?), kimchi and chicken bao (X2, that kimchi is good and the chicken was so light and juicy!), and the chicken katsu ramen (go hungry for this one gang, that cutlet is big and 'c W i s p y'. No typos. I said CWISPY and mean it). It's not bad to stick to a safety protein on your first trip to a new spot, but I wish I had branched out a bit more.
That's not to say everything wasn't tasty! Each dish was perfect temperature, cooked and fried wonderfully, and tasted as good as it looked - but there were some things I was thinking about and wish I'd gone for it. Next time though. Boy will there be next times.
Staff was friendly and attentive, Ling was my server but the rest of the crew was lovely and helped with refills, to-go needs, and checking out. On just my lil ol' self I spent a little over 35$, not including tip, and walked away with something for a midnight snack or lunch tomorrow. I'm excited to return for more (and less, seriously I need a nap in the best way) and that we have a cozy little ramen joint so close to home! 10/10, would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family tried this place for the first time tonight. Everything was wonderful! We were seated right away and the server very kindly talked our kids and us through some menu items that we were unfamiliar with. We each got a different type of boba or fruit teas and then ordered edamame, gyoza, and a fried chicken bite appetizers (can't remember the name) that we're all awesome! For our entrees we two different types of ramen (again, the names are escaping me but it was the first one on the menu with the house made broth, and the one with the fried chicken) and the steak and rice bowl. We just passed things around trying everything! The servers were so attentive and checked on us regularly and the owner even stopped by to see how everything was! As a grand finale, we tried the mochi ice cream. So fun! Sadly, we all dove into things as they were placed on the table so the only picture I got was of the ice cream. We will have to go back soon and remedy this! Thank you for a...
