The restaurant sits near the water and is open door so it's the perfect spot for a nice beach day meal. The meals are generous in portions and sold at a good price. I had the chicken parmesan entree while my boyfriend had the fried grouper and fries basket.
The experience was good enough for me to normally give this five stars. The only reason why I'm giving this four stars is due to cleanliness. I can kind of understood none of the patrons wearing masks since it's outdoors. However, I didn't see any staff wearing masks either. The person that greeted and served us was nice but telling me he had his mask in the back. The way he said it gave me the vibe that he was lying.
The menu I had kind of smelled like a sweaty person. The oil and vinegar jars they gave me for my side salad were sticky as though they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I wound up eating my salad dry after that. The worst part was the fact that my pants got stained by whatever was on the seat. It could've been an old spilled drink or just the dye from the seats bleeding on to the pants. Either way, it royally sucked finding that.
It's not a bad place to eat at. It's just not the cleanest which is an even bigger issue right now with people trusting restaurants to go the extra mile in cleaning for safety reasons. I wasn't hooked this time but maybe you will be if you can see past the obvious issues I found. I wish the staff the best of luck with their business and hope they take my feedback into...
Read moreI thought I would treat myself to a grouper sandwich. I rarely eat out as it is a luxury these days so I was excited. I know the food is really good here so I drove over and placed the takeout order. I asked if they had sweet potato fries, was told yes but it was a $2.50 up charge. I said OK, I’ll take it. So my server packed my meal nicely and I brought it home. I opened the box and saw that the sweet potato fries were crinkle cut, frozen fries. Not freshly cut like I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber . They were terrible and I threw them out as soon as I got home even though I paid $2.50 for them. I was so disappointed. Why the up charge? It’s a potato! Potatoes are about the same price in the grocery store , but just another gouging the customer is how I felt. By the time I got home and saw those fries I wasn’t too interested in the sandwich anymore so after a couple of bites, I threw that out. $29 and change for a sandwich. That’s the sandwich, the up charge on the sweet potato fries and a four dollar tip for the server . $29 and change,…… absolute highway robbery. I know you set a market price on the fish but you could at least price your potatoes at a reasonable price. Interchange them with regular fries like other restaurants. I felt like asking for my money back, but I didn’t. $30 is a lot of money for me to have wasted on this meal. I won’t be...
Read moreI went for father's day with 5 people and this place was absolutely horrible. The place was empty, and you would think it was packed with how long we waited for our food which was over an hour. We waited for 2 beers for over an hour before being told they didn't even have the beer we wanted. Then waited another 30 minutes to get a different beer. I ordered a sea food medley, the mussels and clams were mostly empty and had algae and sand covering them still. The corn was like eating mashed potatoes off the Cobb, the shrimp were super over cooked. The oysters were raw, served on top of the hot food and were so disgusting my nephew didn't even eat his food after trying one. The fried pickles were really soggy. The grouper in white sauce was super dry. Everything was over cooked, gross and extremely expensive. We spoke to the manager who was extremely rude and she gave us 10$ off and said that was the best she could do even though our bill was $195 and told us that sand and algae in your food is normal. That's absolutely insane. If you want good seafood, this is NOT the place to go. Save your money and go to long John silver's before coming to this place. This place...
