Our first stay the Comfort Inn was in May24. It was fairly new and suitably located | for our purposes ,and it received our very positive review. Our second stay of 9nights was different. The room was comfortable, but even though we requested daily room service when we checked in we had to remind them. When returning after 5pm usually our room hadn't been serviced. Apart from 3 days the beds were never made and we had to request the bedroom floor to be cleaned. Bathroom and garbage were always taken care off. When we arrived were informed the hotel WIFI was down but was being fixed, and heard the same story every day. It was finally working nine days later, the morning of our departure My wife has been in the travel sector for many years and is always working even on vacation. a constant WIFI network in our hotels is a "must. Every morning we had to drive to a local coffee shop to use their WIFI to do our daily business due to the hotel's WIFI problem, or in urgent cases use Roaming Data on our German-registered phones (.expensive) I have approached the hotel management for a contribution to our costs due to the WIFI problem, with no response to date. The breakfast was hot and enjoyable. I enjoy oatmeal with warm milk but there was no microwave in the breakfast area in May, I suggested having one, but my request got nowhere, - not needed ! Friendly staff, especially helpful Lisa who solved our billing problem caused by another staff member who I would suggest should work on her "people skills" or find a job not working with the general public. Good laundry facilities, modern commercial washer and dryer at $3 a pop - couldn't complainOur first stay the Comfort Inn was in May24. It's not a bad hotel, it just needs some easy changes to get it back to what is was when we stayed there only six months ago. We will be back in the US in the Spring, whether we will stay here on our next visit -...
Read moreWe booked two rooms for two nights before hurricane Helene. We asked the older lady at the check in counter and she confirmed two rooms for two nights for two adults in one room and two adults and two children in the second room.
Two adults checked in while the relatives that where to stay in the second room where still working at home doing hurricane preparations and they left the two children with us ( me and my 90 year old mother ) for a short while a few times and were to come and stay in the second confirmed room room that night. I went to get some food and when I returned my mother was distraught because the older lady had come to her room and told her we were all going to have to leave immediately and stated that the hotel was overbooked by fifteen rooms. They went to my mothers room and took her and her items from the room and opened the other room and sent her there where they had brought her items. When I returned she was gone from her room where I left her. A maid was cleaning the room and showed me the other room number (522) where they brought her items. When I went to 522 she was there very distraught and told me they told her we all had to leave immediately. I went to the check in desk and the older lady working there told me that me and my mother and I could stay in room 522 but our relatives could not stay in room 502 because the hotel was overbooked by fifteen room and that corporate was the reason and third party booking was the blame and they had to adjust by taking the room and booked it out to another person who showed up with a pass card and entered the room while she was still there before they removed her things. When they came to her room they lady said to my mother that they didn't know if she could come to 522 be cause I was there with "a little girl friend" and didn't know if it was alright for her to to go to room 522 because she thought she was my wife instead of my mother. My mother told her that's my son and he has no girlfriend. I don't know why the older lady working at the desk told her such a thing because there was no girl friend. Security video would prove there was no girl at all entering or leaving room 522 what so ever other than when they opened room 522 to put her things without any authorization. When our guest arrived ( the two adults and two small children ) they had nowhere to stay during the worst of the hurricane and stayed in the parking garage for some of that time. When it was 10:00 the next morning when I had left again to get food and the older lady had called the fire department to remove my mother while I was gone and was going to have the fire department bring her to the hospital where she didn't want to go. When I returned the fire department gave her a lift assist and she when home with me. They were supposed to put us on a lower floor because she has problems stairs and had to have the lift assist. I informed the older lady that the Comfort Inn corporate would be hearing about this. ......Dwayne...
Read moreUpon arrival lat afternoon we asked if there was a quiet room available. Receptionist (male) said yes. We went to the room with the key card… it was immediately ext to the lift and across from the very loud iced water machine!!! ||We also asked if there were any suggestions of restaurants that we could walk to as we didn’t want to drive (having already had a long drive to get to the hotel). He suggested two restaurants which we Googled when we got to our non-quiet room… they were 20 minutes drive away!! Receptionist told us nothing about the hotel. ||Hotel takes a $100 deposit for incidentals … not sure what incidentals they are thinking of!?||On our last night (our second night) when we returning from being dinner there was a trolley cart parked outside the hotel’s front door so we asked a very nice young lady receptionist what the trolley cart did… she advised us it was there to take guest downtown to restaurants etc …so why didn’t the first receptionist chap tell us about it?!?!?! We’d have definitely taken this trolley cart if we’d have known about it. ||The bedroom was ok - fairly spacious and modern, but a minimum number of hangers for clothes. ||There was a gap between the bedroom door and floor … poor workmanship. We put a bath towel down to block the gap/light coming through. ||Grouting around shower base needed attention. ||Breakfast is mediocre - it finishes at 09:30am. At just gone 9am we asked if there would be more corned beef hash as it was taken - answer was “no” as there was no point as the breakfast would be finishing [in 20-25 minutes]. Poor customer service especially when the rate paid includes breakfast! Sausages were swimming in oil so didn’t have those. ||No gluten free options, not even gluten free bread or milk. ||Having said the above, other than the first “clueless” receptionist, the other receptionists were good including a more mature lady. ||The hotel is clean and modern with...
