I’m over here emotional and was just thinking about how grateful I am for so many incredible things in my life and the way God is just working through me to push me into the woman that I am meant to become…
Then I started thinking about how God talked to me and led me to Grumpy’s Middleburg location last Friday, December 6th. What I did not know, is that God leading me there would answer all of my prayers and instantly transform my life.
After their wonderful waitress (I believe her name was Ashley) told my husband and I of the daily specials, I decided on their blueberry cheesecake waffle and he got the surf and turf omelette (while also incredibly delicious, we aren’t here to talk about that).
Now, it’s important that I note that I like waffles, but my go to is a classic crisp yet fluffy flavorful French toast, which is my favorite breakfast there (I literally always order it… I’m a creature of habit). Well, at least I thought I was. That is, until this life changing waffle shifted my entire perspective on who I truly am at heart… A CERTIFIED BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE WAFFLE FANATIC. 😭😭
As I lay here sad and heartbroken listening to the rain pound on my window sill, I am unable to focus on studying for my last final (I graduate on Friday!!), because I am reminded of the heartbreaking reality that this world altering waffle was just a special, and I may never experience another amazing waffle like that again in my life. Not my wonderful husband, nor my amazing children can replicate the immense joy I felt on first bite… 😭😭💔
That cheesecake lifted my spirit in a way only it could do, through Gods mercy and grace. It spoke to my soul stronger and wiser than any worship song I’ve ever heard. It washed away my sins immediately on request and made me anew. I’m fully convinced that this waffle could bring world peace and prosperity for all.
The thought of never experiencing it again is a reality I may have to face. I just have to find solace in knowing that while I never thought I’d get to experience Heaven in my lifetime, on that beautiful sunny Friday morning in December 2024, I did just that, here on earth.
My only regret is that I did not resist immediate temptation, and stop to take a picture of that magnificent miracle before I dug deep in and devoured it (there goes one of those pesky sins that I mentioned it washed away) along with my husband (goodness gracious, if sharing MY miracle with my husband doesn’t show true unconditional love, I’m clueless as to what does… you’re welcome, honey! 😉)!
Now, Grumpy’s deserves all of their FLOURS plus more, so that they can continue to do Gods work and bless the community through their angelic creations. Thank you for all that you do to change lives one miraculous meal at a time. You truly have a customer for life who is eternally grateful for the blessings you have bestowed upon me. 🙌🏾🙌🏾😂😂😭❤️
Not to mention, the customer service was beyond exceptional, as it always is!
And P.S. Grumpy’s… please run it back (preferably this Friday so I can have it for my graduation breakfast😉)! The thought of never experiencing this perfect combination again is absolutely...
Read moreI’ve been to grumpy twice a 2 weeks between the visits. The visit was my first. I did hear good things wanted to try them out. I am born and raised in the south so I was looking forward for a nice experience. The wait times varied because of demand so the first visit was a very long wait. When we got in finally we felt rushed to take our orders. No worries, understandable but we wanted to eat and enjoy our meal and talk over breakfast. This is part of the experience of dining out, enjoying the experience not rush to bring in the “next”! Well I did order a meal and even though it was 2 weeks ago it was forgettable and so therefore I saw on the menu they had corned beef hash so I thought next time come and get that with grits. We did got back for the corned beef hash and grits. After 5 mini of waiting the waitress returned with not available on the corned beef. They ran out ! My heart sank because that’s the only reason for my return.
Now that I had to eat a secondary meal it too was forgettable (meat omelette) it didn’t have that flavor of bacon and ham even though it was in the omelette. So I had a little and made a decision not to finish. The biscuit was cold so I ask for another and ask that it be hot please. She returned with a warm biscuit and said it was just out the oven. She wanted to return it to toast more. I told her it okay I am good. By then I thought I will not go back unless someone insists but I will return back to First Watch for breakfast. First Watch do have waiting but it is worth it. The food taste like a southerner is in the kitchen.
Grumpy im Middleburg I would suggest you taste your food and make sure you are happy with the taste before you serve it. Its descent food but between Waffle House and the dirty floors and not so cleaned restrooms. I’ll take it due to there is a little greasy flavor in the bacon and ham or sausage.
Sorry, to be cruel but we went to Middleburg because someone indicated Kingsley was t that great so we ventured out.
No worries. I will go back if I’m talked...
Read moreGrumpy's used to be my go-to, I would recommend it to everyone, and I always made sure my out-of-towners had at least one meal there during their trip. In the last few months, it has gone hill. My favorite thing to eat was their eggs benedict, the eggs would be perfect, cooked yolk, and would mix so well with the muffins and whichever meat you choose. Now it doesn't matter what style of egg you order, you're getting a cooked yolk. I stopped ordering my Beni's and tried over easy and sunny side, yolk cooked completely through. Whenever I would be honest with the managers, owners, and wait staff about how my food was, they would act as if that's how the egg was meant to be. I've been going to Grumpy's for at least 5 years, this was never how they used to be. Another issue I have is the latex gloves, I have a true latex allergy. When going in to eat, I would normally start itching and never knew why, I always assumed it was due to cross-contamination of food products and I would just drink some benadryl and ask them to be a little more careful. My reactions were starting to get worse during each visit and I would make an excuse and brush it off. While eating, I saw a box of latex gloves on the counter and I immediately knew the issue. I stopped eating and talked to the manager about my allergy and asked her if in the future they could make sure there was zero cross contamination or if they could switch gloves since latex allergies are a more common allergy and she refused. For my health and safety I can no longer eat at your locations. Most states have already banned latex gloved in the service industry because of this, I don't understand why switching gloves isn't an option and they don't list anywhere that they use...
