Hurricane Tinas 5 Star Dive Bar — Restaurant in Florida

Walked in happy to be at what looked like a familiar dive bar and got treated awful. My mother sat down wanting a Diet Coke after watching the packer game at another local bar. The owner was dogmatic and claimed she couldn’t serve her a “Diet Coke” because she was “over served somewhere else” yet we drove her sober so she had a safe ride home(we were with our moms local friend). I get if she was asking for an alcoholic beverage but as an owner even if you were concerned it is your responsibility to allow someone to have a responsible drink soda/water and make sure the person has a ride home that is reliable (which she did). As this was happening another guy fell on the other side of the bar and on our side a guy she served again hit his head on the light where she stated it was because of a dog and served him another drink. Clearly she was over serving people. I get if she took it out on us but what she did was out of line and uncalled for. My mother has a back deformity she was born with so she walks a little different. We felt like she was discriminating because we weren’t locals and also because of her walk. Very nice staff and patrons. Cheap drinks and apparently a free hotdog bar and popcorn machine for college football Saturday.

If you’re on a fixed income or limited budget, I have found the place for you.

Four of us had a drink/beer, it was $19. If I had not had dinner right before I’d have been all over the popcorn machine.

I’d say give it a shot if you’re not a snobby hipster. Dive bar all in.
