The epitome of awful. We walked into this Ihop today for the second time thinking we'd give it another chance. That was a dumb move on our part. It didnt take long for Jessica to greet us and seat us, she was nice. We got the same server as before. The first time she had been new so we excused her of her rudeness amd argumentative tone. This time, however, no excuse. You DO NOT argue with a displeased customer. First, let me back up to the beginning of this nightmare. She was nowhere to be seen once we were seated. Jessica, the person that sat us, had to come and ask our drink order. People that came in after us were being served, but again, our server was nowhere to be found. Finally she came and informed us she'd be with us in a moment. She took our order, then a bit later we got our food from another server. My friend cut into her "over-easy" eggs only to find the white was clear and runny. Our server came over noticing my friend was visibly upset and asked if she needed another plate to put her waffle on. My friend informed her the eggs were not done, so the server gave her a plate to put the waffle on to go get new eggs. The waffle decided to fall apart resulting in the berries and cream falling through the middle. The server then becomes irate saying she'll go get a whole new plate for her. Then, she comes back asking how she'd like her eggs. My friend states again, "over-easy" and the server argues the previous eggs were "over-easy". My friend pointed out the white was NOT supposed to be runny, only the yolk. The server then argues that done whites would be "over-medium" eggs. Not "over-easy". My friend continues to say that is not true. At this point, the server very loudly goes back to the kitchen yelling to the cook about my friend. Not bothering to be quiet or professional AT ALL. We decide to cancel the order and ask for our check for my portion of the meal. The manager then comes over to process our check and proceeds to argue with my friend about the eggs. Stating that it is Ihop standard to make "over-easy" eggs with runny whites and "over-medium" with done whites. Which would have been fine had they explained this to us in the beginning and not argued in such an unprofessional manner. Bottom line, if you want to argue with the staff over an issue. Go here. As for us, we will never return. There are other much more efficient Ihop restaurants that will gladly take our money and give us a much...
Read moreVery poorly managed IHOP. 1 Server Manager is unseen and has the lone server take the heat for everything. I suspect she is the cook, as well.
I ordered a cheeseburger, well- done, no ketchup, no mustard, with well-done grilled onions & lettuce.
Burger came out with a bun that was 'hard as a rock', the burger came out with no grilled onions, also hard (and beyond well-done), The lettuce (romaine with brown and black spots on it that I instantly wrapped in a napkin and asked for the manager.
Lone server came out and asked if I wanted a new one. I said, "Yes, please, with fresh lettuce and an uncooked bun."
The Burger then came out medium to medium-well, with pink showing. I accepted it, but take a look at the 'fresh' piece of lettuce that was on the Burger. (See attached photo, which is exactly as it was served on the beef.)
The manager (who WAS the cook) came to the table, apologized for the burger, and saw the 'fresh lettuce'. She stated she took it out of the case. I told her I was in mid-review, appreciated her apology, but that the lettuce needs to be thrown away.
I hope the lone server finds a nice job somewhere where Management appreciates her and treats her right, and I hope this location either hires staff or closes down due to lack of staff. Whoever owns the place should be ashamed.
Lone server will get a nice tip, for she is a Saint.
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised when we found the IHOP over the bridge off U.S. 41 NORTH in Fort Myers Florida open for business. They had large plastic laminate between each booth and I felt secure and protected from other diners. Danny, our favorite server was working so we asked to be seated in his section. Always happy with a smile on his face, he greeted us and showed us to our booth. We enjoy Danny's attention to detail as he took our order. He's working only three days a week. Knowing that servers and bartenders have had a bad time during the Pandemic, my friend, who was treating me to breakfast gave him a ten dollar tip. He's worth every penny of it. I've been out of work since March 15th, so my best friend asked me where I wanted to go for breakfast. I told her IHOP of course! The food was fresh and delicious. Pancakes lighter than air, Sausages nicely brown and tasty. My friend's platter was loaded with a fine slice of country ham, crunchy home fries, eggs, sausage and pancakes! I have only one request of them. A lot of people enjoy pink grapefruit juice, myself included. They don't carry pink grapefruit juice. I had orange juice which was not from concentrate and was refreshing. But I sure missed my pink grapefruit juice. When you go to IHOP for breakfast ask for a table in Danny's area. The food and service Danny gives you will make you want to go back again as they have many tasty items...
