This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
A couple of girlfriends and I visited this place recently for lunch. For 3 of us our total was $70. I recently had a newborn baby and was excited to get out for a social gathering, this was our first time visitng. 2 of us got a lunch entree and 1 ordered chips, salsa, side of guacamole and side of queso. Upon receiving the food my friend immediately noticed her $30 chips and salsa were stale. For $30 you would think they could atleast make a fresh batch of chips serving them warm. We felt like we received what was laying around leftover. She questioned the cashier if this is normal quality for their chips and the cashier replaced the order with a fresh batch. This should have been the standard starting out for the price she paid for chips and dip, $30. We were talking amongst each other about how expensive chips and dip were at this little restaurant, rudely the cashier helped herself into our conversation obviously easedropping and starting explaining why her chips and dip came to $30. No one even asked her for her opinion. We knew then our conversations amongst each other were being listen to by the employee. Having had a hour drive to the restaurant I used the restroom to change my newborn and noticed there is no changing table in the women’s or men’s bathroom. When I got back from the bathroom I changed my baby in his stroller. Again the same heavyset cashier came up to me and confronted me. Her demeanor was hostile and confrontational like she was on the street. She said “Excuse me you know your not allowed to do that in this resturant, if the health inspector came in we would get fined”. I said “I’m sorry I didn’t know, there isn’t a changing table offered in the bathroom. Where should I change him?” She replied quickly “yeah I’ll mention that to the owner”. I was left questioning if this place was discriminatory against children who aren’t potty trained. Left wondering since I’m not given the option to do it in the bathroom or in the restaurant am I expected to change my baby in the parking lot? The 3 of us all agreed we will never return back here. You pay premium prices for low quality food. As a customer I shouldn’t have felt like my baby and I was burdening the restaurant since he isn’t potty trained. I hope the heavyset cashier was the owner because I don’t think the owner would appreciate the way she is handling customer service. I feel like she learned her customer service skills in jail. Very unprofessional and hostile.

Read moreI lived in California and as much as I wanted to like the tacos here, they are not very good. They make blue corn tortillas and I was interested to try them as I had authentic blue corn quesadillas in Mexico. The tortillas have almost no flavor, which is authentic to Mexico (but not a desirable quality). First I tried the lamb queso tacos and I was not impressed. There was way too much cheese and the lamb did not have a good flavor except the onion and cilantro which was too sparse. I am picky about meat, so I decided to come back on Taco Tuesday and try the chicken, al pastor, and sweet potato tacos. Not very flavorful meat (marinated chicken or pork). The Pastor has pineapple on it and I did not think that went well at all. The sweet potato taco had almost no flavor. I asked about condiments, and I tried all 3 hot sauces. The green & red sauce were underwhelming, and the hot sauce should be renamed “colon cleanse”. The people here are friendly and it seems like a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink/ meal. Ideas for improvement include increasing the meat marination and offering the amazing condiments of radish slices, and pickled pepper/carrots/jalapeños and maybe offer a really tasty salsa to...
Read moreI must apologize for not capturing a before picture of our delectable meal, but let me assure you that the culinary experience at this extraordinary establishment is truly unparalleled. If your dishes do not resemble the mouthwatering masterpiece that we indulged in, then I am at a loss for words. This place is absolutely incredible from the very moment you step foot inside until the moment we reluctantly bid our farewells. We were initially drawn to this place for their renowned birria, but little did we know that we would be leaving with an insatiable desire to sample every single variety of their tantalizing tacos. I must say, the oxtail and octopus dish I had was absolutely phenomenal and truly out of this world! The octopus was flawlessly cooked, resulting in a truly exquisite dish. As for the oxtail tacos, they are simply out of this world, leaving you craving for more with every bite. Without a doubt, the best place to indulge in a culinary experience in Sarasota. You absolutely must try this place out! The owner is incredibly cool, hailing all the way from the...
