My disappointing inaugural visit to Jimmy John’s was fueled by a birthday gift card. I had high hopes because free is defiantly a delightful incentive that led me to explore their offerings for the first time.
Armed with their freshly downloaded app, I embarked on my sandwich quest, my go to sandwich is an Italian, so I ordered the regular and spicy version, complete with pickles. The images, ever vigilant, reminded me not to overlook those tangy cucumber, so I confidently requested two whole pickles also.
Alas, my order was complete and my gift card balance fell short, prompting for a credit card.
As I journeyed to Jimmy John’s, anticipation mingled with hunger. But, fate had other plans. A phone call interrupted my hungry desire: “We regret to inform you that our pickle reserves have run dry,” they said… honestly, they just said “we’re out of pickles!” However offering an unexpected twist—brownies as a pickle substitute. Brownies! The very word conjured visions of chocolatey decadence.
Arriving at the store, I expected my order to be in progress if not already complete as a with a few other of their competitors I frequent. I do believe at one time their slogan was “Freaky Fast” but the time languished as I awaited my order. Google had warned of their unusual busyness, yet my round trip clocked in at 40 minutes with the wait time. In fact an entire pizza could be made and baked in my typical drive. However the suspense grew as I returned home, clutching my sandwich and the enigmatic brownies. With each bite, I compared Jimmy John’s creation to the ghostly echoes of Kmart’s Italian subs from my childhood. The verdict? A notch above nostalgia, a tad better than Kmart’s, but still, the missing pickles left me a salty yearning. So, now that I was made aware my gift card was not charged, and the entire nuisance was placed on my credit card, back to Jimmy John’s I shall venture reluctantly, armed with my remaining gift card balance. Nostalgia awaits—a taste of yesteryears wrapped in deli paper, a fleeting connection to simpler times at the plastic warped...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Placed my order online. After not getting my food for almost an hour, we called only to find out there are no drivers and that we could get a refund or pick up. This is not the first time they have not had a delivery driver. The last time they called and let us know the situation and all was good. When we arrive they only handed us half the order. We showed them the online confirmation and he finally admitted our card was charged and made the other sandwich. At this point we finally got an apology for the mistake. Never once did he really seem apologetic and the young lady working with him thought the whole thing was funny apparently as she kept smirking at us. Who knows how long it would have been had we not called. Customer service is not rocket science. The first thing he should have done was apologize. We asked for the number for the manager and he said I am the manager. We said how about whomever you work for. He let us know he was the main manager. We finally got the number for corporate and will be calling...
Read moreI am not a fan of leaving reviews but this has to be known. For the last 2 years, I have randomly ordered delivery for my house approximately 1 mile from the location in Pace, FL. I run a business from my house and I stay busy. I am also a disabled vet that has issues walking, so delivery is my best choice for food if I decide I want to eat out. Everytime I have ordered online for the last 2 years I have been told they can't deliver because of multiple reasons and last night was the first time in about 6 months trying to order delivery. They called shorty after placing the order to tell us they couldn't deliver once again. The excuse this time was "I am the only one at the store and can't leave". My wife went to go get the food as we had already paid and when she got to the store 5 minutes later, there were multiple people in the store. The delivery excuses are getting old. I have just had enough and decided to "put...
