So the gal pal and I had big plans for baby goat yoga (yes it's a thing and yes it's adorable) and pizza at gittos ( an absolute masterclass of an establishment on drunk people food) on the Orlando side of town. Unfortunately when Sunday morning came around the idea of driving across the state for spiritual goat fun and NY style pizza seemed nothing more than hubris. So an impromptu negotiation began and the result was Just Love Coffee and Snowcat Ridge. Now any Florida foodie worth one's salt can gush about the many quality options central Florida has to offer but I feel Brandon Florida is an underappreciated haven with plenty of gems including the aforementioned breakfast joint. First of all I want to make a big shout out to the staff. They are kind, attentive, seem to really care about the customer experience and dare I say a rather attractive bunch. Also my lady friend is Brazilian and absolutely loves that one of the baristas speaks portuguese. Our cashier/server on this particular vist was great as well, very knowledgeable of the menu, made suggestions, a proud owner of an awesome bridge piercing and playfully eviscerated me for wearing a Thanksgiving facemask in December. There was a third waiter there though we did not interact with her much durring our visit she did take time on a busy Sunday to make us feel acknowledged and welcome. The menu there is moderate is size enough to fit just about any need but not so much to feel overwhelmed in the amount of options. Lots of fancy coffees and pretty much what you would expect from a strip mall mom and pop breakfast/lunch establishment + a little confectionery section with easily the most will weakening cheesecake this humble observer has ever encountered. Also they have a little merch section with hats shirts and such. The prices are fair for what you are getting you do pay the small business price but all in all its not a budget buster. The atmosphere is really great and oddly multifaceted. There is plenty of seating for size of the restaurant my favorite being the bar facing the lake behind the restaurant. Honestly it would take me 3 paragraphs to explain each seating area and the positives but seeing I doubt anyone is actually still reading I'm just going urban dictionary a random word and...padiddle. Alright where was I? Oh yes the food. The presentation is creative and well done definitely basic bitch ig bait. I ordered the chicken in waffles, coming from a multicultural background chicken and waffles is definitely something that is near and dear to my heart and often find most establishments rarely get it quite right but I have to stay it was on point and the spicy syrup was definitely a fantastic and welcome addition. I guess al dente is the term that comes to mind. My confidante had the breakfast burrito when she went to the bathroom I snuck a bite 😋 though I would have to say it takes a special kind of cook to get a breakfast burrito wrong I would say they definitely did it right. Lots of cheese and not too messy. Also when asked why there was a bite out of her burrito I informed her durring the cooking process perforations sometimes form and if you're reading please do not mention this. In closing this a quick service restaurant that I love and will for years to come. Definitely has the demon food lust seal of approval. Please follow me on IG for more nonsense you will regret reading at @demon_food_lust
Ps Snowcat ridge is a bit of a mixed bag. 1 they charge 15 dollars to park in a grass field. 48 dollars a head this includes 2 hours of the slope ride which is fun but after the third ride and a twinge in my lower spine we were well over it hot coco is 6 bucks and beers are 10 dollars a pop. The cold room which was stated to be 30-40 degrees was more like 60 degrees and the snow was soft packed ice. For children I'm sure this was more fun but I felt as a couples outing it was a bit of waste money pit. And beware this place could easily cost a family of 4 500-1000 dollars to...
Read moreI want to give them more stars I actually love this place and recommend them to everyone. I've been several times but this last time was Just Disappointing. We got there at 3:15pm but they close at 4pm, which we didn't know until we got there. But at 3:15 they kept saying how they close at 4pm and they didn't have certain things on the menu because of that--including their regular house brew coffee 😮 Shouldn't that just be sitting in a pot ready to pour?! Am I wrong? Also they usually give you coffee in a cute glass mug with a design in the froth, its a whole experience that I look forward to when I come here, but this time they gave us a to-go-cup and didn't even ask if we wanted it to-go. It was almost like they were saying, "we close PROMPTLY at 4 and you WILL leave at that time." They also started turning lights off at 3:45pm in a part of the restaurant where no one was sitting. We felt so rushed and unwelcomed! Its like they were mad that we had the audacity to come 45 minutes before they close. I understand having a long work day and wanting to close on time so you can get to whatever else you have going on in life outside of work. But when you're in the service industry you have to understand that people expect good service up until closing not up until 1 hour before closing. If I'm paying my money for a certain experience, especially as a loyal customer, I expect to get the experience that I pay for. Needless to say, that while their coffee is probably some of the best I've had in town, I dont think I'll be going back or at least if I do it will be WELL before closing time. Sheesh 🙄 I'm giving 2 stars because the coffee was still good. Otherwise, they'd be getting 1 start because the way we were treated is just no way...
Read moreI went here to get some coffee beans and also a latte. They have a good looking selection of different coffee beans, but as I was looking through them, I noticed none of the bags had a roast date. For those who don’t know, the date of roasting is very important to determine freshness. If you want good, fresh coffee beans, it’s important they have the roasting date listed. Instead, all the bags have best by dates. Unacceptable for any coffee shop that wants to provide customers with fresh coffee beans. The two employees who I talked to were kind. A male employee came over to tell me about the coffee beans. I asked about the roast date. And he claimed that all the beans had been roasted 2-3 weeks ago. When I grabbed a specific bag (Ethiopia) and asked. He changed his answer, and said “oh that bag is 5 weeks old.” “Okay what about this Costa Rica bag”, I asked. I pointed out the best by date said June of 2024. He said “that’s one of our most popular beans right now” . I asked if the bags had the wrong best by stickers on them. He said “yeah, those were roasted 3 weeks ago.” So I bought them. The regular latte I ordered was scalding hot and served in the wrong sized cup. But it tasted good once it cooled down. The beans, on the other hand, are definitely not fresh. Who knows how old they really are. The smell of the freshly ground beans is not pleasant like it normally is. Sad to receive these beans at what I thought would be a good place to get quality coffee beans. Please put roast dates on your bags. Only grocery store coffee beans have best by dates. As a side note, I hear the food is really good, and the atmosphere inside is very pleasant. The coffee bean...
