Kazu Sushi and Sushi Burito — Restaurant in Florida

This place has gone downhill, and management is so bad, they won't even replace a poor meal or give any refund! I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews. Many problems from the food to the high prices, and even management, which is now very poor.

When inflation got bad, they started raising prices substantially, without really telling the customers. As a regular rewards customer , I asked the woman (who is apparently the manager), about this, and she was quite rude , telling me it hadn't gone up "much".

After that , we stopped going for awhile. Then came back, only to find the manager and food quality was even worse, and higher priced. While I would say they use OK/average ingredients, they seem to be trying to short customers on the food amounts. The poke bowls seem to be the worst examples of this. It got so bad when I had ordered a takeout, that I asked for a refund/replacement - and the manager refused! I should have taken pictures, but it was really bad. I ordered the veggies to be in separate container, and both containers we less than half full for a single bowl that cost over $20! With the separate container, I could sadly see how I'd been getting rooked so many times by this place. :( Not only was the portion small, but ingredients I ordered were missing!!! When I told the manager , her response was basically to call me a liar and refused to make it right. SMH

This is the first time in my life that I can remember not only getting bad product/service, but having the management refuse to make it right, and is the reason why I wrote this review . I also told the manager I would do this as she refused to help a loyal customer, despite doling out much bad service and product at high prices. Honest and correct opinion from a long time former customer, avoid this place completely. High prices, average to below average ingredients, purposeful shorting of portions, and last but certainly not least , a manager who will basically tell you to take a hike if...

I ordered delivery and got the build-your-own poke bowl as well as chicken hibachi. I think for the price point, the food I got was pretty good, but not amazing.

The chicken hibachi was pleasant to eat but the components themselves edged towards mild in terms of flavor. They did provide soy sauce and yum yum sauce so optimistically, they make it mild so you can further season depending on your tastes. I just wouldn't say it wowed me, but to reiterate, still good.

Where I was really disappointed was the poke bowl. While it was a competent poke bowl and tasted decent, my expectations dropped when I saw the ratio of rice to inredients. It was like 4/5ths rice with a relatively thin layer of ingredients on top. On the app, you can choose a lot of different things to add in, but it ultimately doesn't matter because you basically get a pinch of each. Even the amount of protein was disappointing. At 14 dollars a bowl, there are a lot of sushi places or other poke bowl restaurants that have lunch specials or just regular poke bowls that are more generous with the actual tasty ingredients of a poke bowl than the rice.

To be fair, this is my first time ordering from Kazu so maybe it was an off day or something. Maybe it's a situation unique to delivery. I don't know. Regardless, it was disappointing and I'll likely not order poke bowls from here again.

Update: I am very happy to say that our experiences here have been fantastic the last few times we decided to visit. We came in with a food allergy and the owner answered all of our questions and offered assistance. The food taste and quality is still above average and they are willing and want to earn our trust and business! Yay! Now a regular place to patron! Thank you for the improvements!

So I really like the food here but they really need to change some things. Like posting a sign that says prices have increased but not marking which items have increased and how much more they are now.. like asking for a tip and then making you counter order and clean your table after, like nickel and diming.. well everything. I want to eat there.. I love the salad and being able to add so many items …I like the taste of the food…just not...
