My boys enjoy sleeping in during the summer but I just had to wake them in time to arrive at our new favorite breakfast spot by 12noon for some brunch.
We arrived and were seated immediately after being greeted by the hostess. Our server Holly came to see us right away. We ordered up some coffee and orange juice.
We even were greeted by General Manager Kevin before we put our food order in. He stopped and spent a gracious amount of time tableside as I mentioned I've been so impressed by the Banana Caramel Pecan topped Belgian waffle in the past. He asked if I had tried the stuffed French Toast and I replied I had not, yet!
Kevin explained to me a bit about what their Stuffed French Toast would be like compared to regular French Toast. I just could not pass up the chance to try. It really was a day to go out on a limb compared to my Belgian waffle, but I trusted the experience and swung for the fences!
My sons ordered their usual Apple Cinnamon regular French toast and Chocolate Chip pancakes.
Wow! This was one impressive breakfast for all of us. Every last bite of my own dish was absolutely scrumptious! And whoever breakfast chef was behind the curtain (compliments!!), they were generous with the topping to my Stuffed French Toast as well as with the powdered sugar. All to my liking! It would have been fine without adding extra syrup, but I did ask for extra just to savor the flavor even more.
My younger son's pancake was so voluminous he couldn't even finish the whole first one. The chocolate chips were plentiful inside the batter as well. Two more pancakes on a second plate were delivered to our table and they were destined to land directly in his to-go box for later. Just, wow!
The bacon we ordered to share was the most melt-in-your-mouth crispy perfection I ever did see and experience. One side order between the three of us went so fast before we dug into our breakfast plates, I decided to add another order even after Holly brought us our check. She had no qualms adding it right on and the bacon arrived within what seemed to be moments--even before the updated bill arrived to us.
Our coffees were never half-full for long. I enjoy the strength of Keke's drip hot coffee. I enjoy that Hazelnut and French Vanilla creamers are brought out along with the regular ones.
It sure was a fancy kind of day spending quality time with my sons as we sufficiently shook the sleep off of us at Keke's, catching up on our usual topics of discussion when we visit. Our experience was made into a splendid one to say the least--and as always, too--by the staff and by the food. Home run, every time.
Keep on keepin' on, Keke's fam! Thanks so much. You're doing great. Momma Mix and her boys will see you in a...
Read moreWe wanted to try a new place for breakfast, and Keke's delivered! No, not literally, we ate at the restaurant.
They were busy but we were seated within 15 minutes as promised. Nice interior, very bright and clean. Hostess worked hard to get everyone seated as soon as possible.
Our server Anna was phenomenal. I have to say, one of the best I've ever had. Quick, on point, efficient, yet somehow made it all look easy. She should teach server classes and I guarantee her students will see at least a 50% increase in tips.
Coffee was strong and hot, perfect. I ordered my old staple for new breakfast places, scrambled eggs and ham with breakfast potatoes. Actually here I got the half a ham steak, glad Anna steered me to this ample portion instead of the full size. A nice cut of ham with no fat and perfectly grilled. Eggs were fluffy and tasty. Rye toast was fine. Potatoes were cut into rounds with grilled onions and had a nice flavor, though I chose to add a little salt. One of the better breakfast potatoes I've eaten in a while.
We also had the combo, which was a nice menu feature to try a few things. Ask your server if you have any questions because it reads at first like a technical manual, but you can basically get whatever you want as long as you don't mind paying for it. Eggs over easy with bacon and the turtle stuffed french toast is what we chose. Bacon was cooked near perfect but the stuffed french toast was totally decadent! So good, not for the diet minded. Lots of other stuffed french toast options as well as pancakes and waffles.
Overall, we were very pleased. Food was a step up from other diners and Anna's service rounded out a perfect breakfast. We will be back to sample some other menu options in the...
Read moreLet me start of saying that I prefer the Hole in the wall breakfast joint and this is far from that. That being said, my rating is solely based on my experience today.
This is a very classy establishment, the decor is very modern with a large glass window in the back that looks into the kitchen. Overall a well kept and clean restaraunt.
I was promptly greeted and seated as I entered. My server arrived with in 2 minutes of me being seated. While they were both polite, neither of them introduced themselves or displayed name tags. This struck me as off character for the establishment's ambiance and prices.
I placed a simple order as I was on a time constraints. A water, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese (soft) and Bacon. I had my water with in 2 min and my food arrives in 9 min. The eggs were soft but as you can see from the picture they were not scrambled. I received a cheese omelette. In there defense scrambles eggs were not on their menu. However, I would expect the server to know if the kitchen would only cook eggs as an omelette. Even so, the cheese omelette was just okay. They had no flavor and the cheese was simply places on top causing it to burn in spots and make the omellete crunchy too. The bacon on the other hand was amazing and cooked to perfection, not burnt or raw, just with enough chew and crunch to enjoy the smoked hickory flavor.
I was able to get my bill immediately, pay and be on my way with in 3 minutes of asking for the check. Overall my visit...
