DISCLAIMER- THIS RESTAURANT IS ONLY GETTING ONE STAR BECAUSE IT WON'T ALLOW ME TO GIVE IT A ZERO WHICH IS MORE THAN IT DESERVES! I will NEVER eat here again. Worst service ever!!!! The hostess asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We asked for outdoor. She then told us that it was unavailable unless we wanted to eat outside on the picnic table. We were very hesitant, but went ahead and tried it. It was absolutely disgusting! A meal for three people was over $85- not including a tip- for us to sit at a picnic table! When she seated us, the entire area was covered in dragonflies and she kept giggling over and over saying,"Oh my. Oh my. It's never like this." All the way she was just giggling and grinning like a middle schooler. We had to wait for service for so long from our server Jamie -who is male- I'm only giving that detail so that no one else will mistakenly avoid anyone named Jamie who is female-that my back begin to extremely hurt, considering that I had no back to my seat. They did have a cute little smoking area that had nicely painted Adirondack chairs that I was able to sit in, but unfortunately I had to eat my entire hot meal on my lap and my daughter had to bring it to me and she set with me as well. Not one time after my husband explained to the server where we were did server Jamie ever come over and see if we needed anything. In fact, I had to wait so long for ketchup that had to be brought from our table by us that my French fries were cold and I never did get any butter for my potato so I didn't get to eat that, either. They never even offered us another table! This just happened today, so Jamie, if you're wondering why you didn't get a tip now you know! Maybe you can try to do a better job. We are very good tippers. We never leave less than 25%. Your bad service cost you 20 some dollars tonight. I hope whatever you were doing that was more important than serving us was worth it. Anyone who goes there after reading this is...
Read moreFOOD: we ordered the the crab smothered mahi (crab topping was great fish was overcooked), ribs and shrimp (ribs dry and not very meaty.) The shrimp was sizable and okay), swordfish (blackened it had good flavor and was cooked well), ny strip steak (overcooked, but flavored well and huge portion) tuna nachos (well done and pretty tasty. I'd ask for a little extra sauce drizzled on top it was very light but it was delicious) and gator bites. (They were well cooked and well seasoned) The sides we ordered were red beans and rice, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, sweet potato fries, cornbread. Mashed potatoes, broccoli and sweet potato fries were awesome everything else was not great.
SERVICE: our service from our waiter was not the best. He gave us a hard time about switching out side dishes. He said the kitchen staff doesn't like to do that. Then when my husband's dinner came out it did not have the right side dishes. We told the waiter and he never brought the proper side dishes out. The hostess who sat us seemed annoyed when I asked if we could sit at a different table. (Which was to be seated away from the the rest of the groups who were all older adults. We had kids and we're trying to be mindful of others there) Not very friendly staff here at all.
LOCATION: on the water. Not much parking. View of the bridge. Some pretty garden beds with herbs.
PRICE: For 4 meals and 2 appetizers it was over $150 before tip.
We will not return to this place again. With so many options in the area it's unnecessary to spend this much money and get such poor service and...
Read moreWe visited this place for our lunch this last weekend since it was highly rated and located on the water.
When you are trying to find the place, follow the signs and it's basically at the back end of the parking lot, at the water, past the inn. Parking is limited right in front of the restaurant, so we had to park in the inn parking lot.
We were seated immediately at a requested spot by the water (indoors). The table was very oddly placed in the corner, so we moved it so that our party could access the chairs against the wall.
The menu is pretty cool + unique. I think this place needs to advertise itself as an Asian fusion restaurant or something of the sort, as I would not have expected all the sushi and Asian dishes. This was great for our party that prefers sushi, too.
I got the sesame crab cakes. The crab cakes were really good.. to describe the sauce would be to compare it to sweet + sour sauce. The scallops were good. The dumplings were ok. Nice presentation by the chef for all of our food.
The key lime pie and creme brûlée were perfection.
Our service was ok. I didn't catch his name. He was nice but with the place not really being that busy for lunch, I was surprised how much waiting we had to do for drink refills, boxes and the check.
The outdoor area is cool to walk around. They have outdoor seating where several people brought their dogs. I thought it was really cool that the restaurant brings out dishes of water for any visiting dogs.
I would definitely give this place a visit again to give some other dishes a try - next time I would like to...
