Mangroves Café — Restaurant in Florida

This USED to absolutely be the best place anywhere around. Easily 5+ stars. Prices were unbeatable, really good food, and great customer service...that was all before new management took over. Ever since the new owner came in, all prices have went up. Not even a little. Prices went up A LOT! It is not worth spending that much on breakfast anymore. You even get charged 4% more if you use card now! Before, that never mattered, they were just courteous and happy to help. The new owner doesn't care as long as he makes a buck. I tried mentioning how I thought prices were high, and he thought it'd be best to argue with me and say, "well that's the nature of the beast, I have to pay my employee (one employee), I'm in business to make money, blah blah blah." And when I said I don't think I'll be back with these prices, he said he's sorry, "everyone has different financial situations," and insulted me as if I were too broke to afford the place...it's breakfast, dude. This place is like a hidden treasure, hidden gem. It has a delightful atmosphere. The decor is a breath of fresh air from the daily grind; it gives off a calm feeling, like you're somewhere between the Florida Keys and the Caribbean. There were a variety of choices on the menu, choosing which one to select was the hardest part. If I were a betting person, I'd say any of their food is delectable... Scrumptious... I opted to have El Cubano... The Cuban sandwich. OMG... I'm in heaven. In all my years residing in Florida and ordering Cuban sandwiches, this place wins..hands down...they have my vote! It was my first visit there and I was quite impressed. Adam is an affable lad. He made the Cuban sandwich... Kudos!!! I have been coming here for a little over a year, once or twice a week, and I can't recommend it enough. Whether you work in the office complex it is located in, or in the general area, it's a great choice for breakfast and lunch during the week. And with the changing daily and weekly specials and the menu that sees permanent new additions every so often, this place does not lack variety and never gets old. You may develop a usual but this place will be constantly changing your appetite.

Adam and Rhonda are great fun to talk to and are ready to customize your order and make sure you get exactly what you want. As a bonus they also have local artists with pieces up for sale which are often unique and something nice to purchase in addition to your order on occasion.
