My husband, 6 year old son and I went to Marsala's last night for dinner. We arrived at 6:40 and were told it would be a 15 minute wait while there were several empty tables in the dining area. This was not a problem since my son wanted pizza and was willing to wait. We were actually seated in less than 10 minutes. There was also another party of 3 that arrived several minutes after us and they were seated at the same time at a table diagonal from us. We waited to place our drink orders, and then placed our appetizer (cheesey garlic bread and mozzarella sticks, my son's favorites) and our dinner order (an 8 inch pizza for my son, cheese calzone with extra cheese and garlic, and a chicken ceasar salad). We sat waiting over 30 minutes with no appetizer, while the other table that was seated diagonal from us had their appetizer and pizza. Our food arrived, the salad and calzone, and the pizza 5 minutes later, no appetizer. We understand this is the middle of season, restaurants are busy, but we live here year round and thought that this was going to be a weekly visit to this restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Our server was hostile when we mentioned that the other table got their appetizers and was 1/2 way through their meal and our dinner was here, no appetizers, and no pizza for my son. At this point we were very upset and when she offered to bring out the appetizer she had only put in the mozzarella sticks, she had forgotten to put in part of our appetizer order! We did not want them after our dinner had arrived. When she finally brought our bill she had taken 25% off, or so she said because the math did not add up. I was more than willing to pay for what we had eaten and ordered. The manager walked by our table several times and talked to the tables around us but did not come over to us, purposefully ignoring us. My husband went to talk to him after we paid the bill and he basically hid! We will not be returning here anytime soon, which is sad because the food was good, but the customer service,...
Read moreMarsala's used to be our favorite place and over the years we've probably taken at least six other couples there. However, a few years ago it started becoming very hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza sauce was "off" and about every other time we went they would seriously burn the crust. A couple times they screwed up the pizza and made it wrong and we ended up waiting like 40 minutes.
We kept going there even though we knew that there was about a 50% chance that the pizza would get screwed up. The worst thing is that they were very unapologetic when they screwed up and they NEVER EVER offered to comp us or take anything off the bill. The last straw was what happened during our last visit... We went for lunch and there was one other couple dining at that time, so they clearly weren't busy. The owner's son was sitting at the end of the bar, there was a bartender, 2 servers, and the bus lady. Nancy, the owner's daughter, also a server, came to the table and told us that someone else would be waiting on us as she hadn't had a break yet. Apparently she failed to communicate this to the other server because we sat there for 10 minutes and no one ever came to take our order or even get drinks started so we got up and left. It was the last time we will ever give them our business. The quality of food has declined over the years and these people clearly don't appreciate their customers or understand the meaning of good customer service. If you're looking for a really great pizza that is perfect every time, I recommend Pino's in Bonita Springs in the Publix...
Read moreWhen you can keep eating 🍽 the pizza 🍕 the next day for breakfast and lunch you know you have found a wonderful pizza place!! When I was little my dad would take us to a pizza place after church ⛪️ called “Father and Son’s Pizza.” He couldn’t do it all the time but when he could he’d always take us. For me, those were such great memories and I am not sure if I can describe how yummy the pizza was but I do know I looked forward to us boxing up the leftovers for the next few days. Maybe it was the memories of us all being together eating pizza and catching up on life that makes those memories so meaningful. So yesterday while my sister and I were there at Marsala”s catching up on life eating Calamari, deliciously, perfectly baked garlic 🧄 rolls, and a mouth watering thin crust, meat lover’s pizza with cold beer and a heartfelt conversation I could not be more grateful! Add to that Michael Buble playing in the background and well… the moment was just blissfully perfect! Top it off with your breakfast and lunch for the next day and you literally have the best pizza place west of Lake Okeechobee. I’m in love with this little pizza place, the food, the service and the memories and I trust you will love it too!!! #enjoy it and the rest as they say will be...
