I’m saying it the way it is. I have absolutely no reason to write a bad review. I’ve been wanting to try the food here because of reviews. My husband and I went today. We went for the pastrami sandwiches but they said it’s off the menu now because they weren’t selling enough. Totally understandable. Second choice was a smash burger. My husband and I both ordered one. Mine was to have grilled onions and ketchup only. Simple right? My husband ordered it just like that ( I NEVER EVER GET CHEESE) I hate cheese. My husband of 41 years knows this like the back of his hand. He always orders my food and knows I like PLAIN AND SIMPLE EVERYTHING!!! When my husband got to the car I opened my burger and it had lots of melted cheese and bacon. No problem I can take the bacon off but no way I can take the melted cheese off. I immediately went back in and told the owner. He responded by saying my husband ordered it wrong. He then said with attitude to me “ your going to have to wait for me to make you a new one, Im busy making another sandwich ( no one in the place) Then he said “ get your husband back in here to pay for your burger I’m going to make you now” He then said “ that’s a $12 burger , who do you think is going to eat that now?” I honestly could not believe it.He actually expected us to pay ANOTHER $12.He didn’t want to own up to his mistake. My husband said the man that took the order was reminding the owner cooking my burger that it gets onions and ketchup only! He even wrote it down and showed it to him!The owner was talking to my husband instead… trying to sell French fry’s and other sides. Not paying attention! I understand mistakes ( I was raised in a family deli, owned a restaurant and catering business) I would never ever treat my customers this way, for any reason at all. Shame on you Paul’s deli. And by the way … that so called $12 burger is about $3 YOUR COST. It’s really bad you lost future...
Read moreEDIT: I get food from him at least ever other week. He is such a gntleman and always remembers me and asks how I am doing. I always give the 'normal' answer, but I'm positive if there was something off kilter he would be understanding and do the best he could to express his appropriate level of caring.
You just can't miss out on this place if you're in town.
I have had this place saved in my "want to list" and I am so sorry it marinated there for so long. We ordered the Mac Daddy, Cuban, fries and two desserts.
I like burgers, sure. They're aren't necessarily on my personal radar though. This one?! ... It smelled so good and my darling husband took too long getting into it so I broke in. When I tell you that this is the non-burger enthusiast's burger it's the truth.
Fries perfectly crispy and my Cuban was exactly what I was craving.
I mentioned that my pupper was in the car and that he was going to go crazy when he smelled the food on the way home. The car was running and the AC was on. He asked if he could have a snack and I said, "Sure!".
...This man gives me some of the ends of the meat that aren't nice for sammiches for my pup.
We will be going through the rest...
Read moreThe first time I tried Paul’s it was the weekend of the Valspar Golf Tournament across the street at Innisbrook. I figured it would be crazy and maybe not even do-able. Boy was I wrong. Not only was the young man really helpful, super nice and accommodating they had no problems with my “specific” order of sandwiches. I’m from up north and have been down in the area for over 20 years, and I’m ashamed to admit that I never knew they existed!! A real corned beef sandwich, REAL corned beef and REAL Pastrami on real fresh rye bread!! And the best part is that when I went back the following week he remembered me!! And what I ordered. I cannot recommend them enough. What a little gem where you would least expect it. Their convenience store has some unique items as well. Definitely...
