Take it from a NJ transplant from 1987 who never looked back, except for the pizza. . This place will satisfy that craving for 'up North / NY style/taste/crisp foldable crust/hot stretchy cheese' pizza. Choices of toppings in personal and large size pies can satisfy most folks and other offerings like calzones, cheese sticks, garlic knots, etc can satisfy the rest. Mind the sign on the door ā āNo Slicesā -. This isn't a 'small Italian spot' that has salads or gelati ⦠itās 'delicious, hot pizzaā made to order when you order⦠literally, ready within 20 minutes⦠the folks working there are very friendly and proud of their food, and deservedly so. I ordered cheese sticks, Margherita, and The Works in personal pie sizes. Cheese sticks were so good that I almost got too full to eat the rest.. But a full belly and a burnt roof of my mouth later reminded me of those satisfying pizza eating times from back up North. So if you miss those times, try Pizzaissimo.. if you want a taste of excellent 'up North / NY style/taste/crisp foldable crust/hot stretchy cheese' pizza, try Pizzaissimo. And yes fellow transplants, there are red pepper flake, garlic salt, and grated parmesan shakers on each table.. ļ .
Update - I did go back after I called and ordered 'to go' and it was ready when promised, made as I requested and delicious! Ordered the Meat Lovers this time. Yup, this is going to be my #1 spot now!
Update update.. I've been here a few times since the previous update but haven't posted. Here again on this rainy night and enjoyed a 12" Meat Lovers, cooked to crisp up the pepperoni - the man is a pizza artist! Posted Pic of the Meat Lovers and the mandatory Fold of the Slice (no matter the size of the pie) š. Come in and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a recent transplant to the area and a New Yorker with a serious love for pizza, I had high hopes for Pizzaissimo, especially seeing its near five-star rating. Unfortunately, my experience merited a three-star review.
We ordered a cheese pizza with tomatoes across the whole pizza and jalapeƱos on half. To our disappointment, Pizzaissimo used cherry tomatoes, cut in half, as the topping. This was an unexpected choice and not what we anticipated. In New York, weāre used to a different style of tomato on our pizzas, so this was a bit of a letdown.
On the brighter side, the calzone was a hit. The dough was well-cooked and the sauce accompanying it was flavorful ā definitely the highlight of our order.
However, the delivery experience dampened our overall impression. I understand that delivery issues can sometimes be beyond a restaurant's control, but the way it was handled was not up to the mark.
We're willing to give Pizzaissimo another try, perhaps visiting in person next time to see if that makes a difference. But for now, based on this experience, a three-star rating seems fair. Pizzaissimo shows promise, but there's definitely room for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll of the 1 star reviews are definitely fake as the owner has commented and stated on them. Everytime I call in to order or have went in to order, the service is top notch. The Owner is a great guy thatās passionate about pizza (although I have only met him once) and the employees are cool and love their job. The pizza is absolutely fantastic every single time I have ordered, without failure. I have been ordering pizza from here since they opened and I gave them a chance. And refuse to go anywhere else, no pizza for me when they are closed. Iām very critical when it comes to pizza and like it basic. Good old pepperoni! And Iāll tell you what, They have mastered it! Which seems to be difficult as every other place around here is just regular pizza. This places pizza is like a gift from the pizza gods, here to bless every single one of your taste buds with every bite. They are the only pizza place I recommend and if you haven't tried them, weāll youāre just...
