I went here for the first time last night, with a party of 4. You cannot be seated until your entire party arrives, which is typical of restaurants in the area. There is a nice garden seating and walking area between the other restaurants in this little "strip mall" of restaurants. Inside, employees are required to wear masks (due to COVID19), but patrons are not. There was a very reasonable amount of space between seated tables. It was an overall lovely establishment. I did notice the waitresses sanitizing the salt and pepper shakers as well. Once seated, we ordered a bottle of Malbec, Calamari, and Cod appetizers along with the complimentary loafs of bread and butter. I must say the calamari was perfectly fried, with just the right amount of seasoning. The fried cod was great as well--the strawberry chili sauce that came with it was perfection! The perfect amount of sweet and spicy! I ordered a combo of scallops and shrimps on skewers, grouper, rice, and green beans. They were all delicious, though, after the wine, bread, and appetizers, I was nearly full! We got the choice of house salad, ceaser salad, and soups like clam chowder. Our server seemed unbothered by our table, as though she had better things to do, other tables were better, or we weren't going to tip her as well. She was quite short and not really making much effort. It did make it a little uncomfortable, but we were in good company, so we didn't much care that she didn't seem to care. All in all, the food was great, and it was a very nice setting.

Knowledgeable wait staff able to explain different fish textures and flavors. Our party of 3 had the grouper bites as an appetizer (excellent), followed by the complimentary bread and choice of cup of soup or house salad. Butter was a bit too cold to spread, but bread was crispy on top, warm, delicious. I had the clam chowder Manhattan style (choice Manhattan or New England). Hot and fresh, good but not excellent. The house salad was a mixed green salad, which one of our party didnt care for. But it was very fresh. Entrees were the fried oysters, crunchy fried grouper, and the blackened combo (shrimp, scallops, grouper). All was delicious. Sides included baked sweet potato, baked Idaho, rice pilaf, and french fries. We had one of each potato and the pilaf, all good. We were all full and passed on dessert, which wasn't an easy decision when creme brulee was mentioned! The restaurant itself was nice, but I found it odd that it was within a square of businesses. Another mention is the beautiful fresh seafood counter. The fish market is open daily with the freshest catch, and if I were local I would certainly be buying my seafood from here! The bill was a little hefty, coming in at $121 before the tip. That was a party of 3 sharing 1 appetizer, 1 entree each, no dessert, and 2 of us only drinking water. It was a nice experience and we will probably come back next year while vacationing.

Our server, Rebecca, was FABULOUS!! Extremely friendly, demonstrated extensive knowledge on menu items, answered several of our questions without hesitation or annoyance, and offered helpful menu suggestions! As noted in other reviews, the crowd and atmosphere are geared toward the more seasoned diners, but if you like the supper club dining experience and good value for the price point, this is the place for you! The crispy grouper was two very large pieces served deep-fried. It was good, but it probably would have been better if we chose another preparation option like plan fried or if oven baked (if offered). We also had the salmon and rice, it was delicious! Both meals came with green beans (need to self season, fyi only), a side, and soup or salad. We upgraded our salad to a wedge salad, it was DELICIOUS! If you don't like a lot of dressing, make sure you ask for light dressing because they do not skimp on the dressing. The fish dip and ceasar salad with anchovies (added) were both very tasty. Ceaser dressing was very thick and creamy like we like it.

I called to make a reservation for 7:30 for 2 I requested a special table as it was a first date. The person who answered the phone was very friendly and she told me that she would request THE GREENHOUSE ROOM. We very excited to have our first teal date at Paenbrokers, it was my first time there and my date raved about the sea bass. We arrived about 7:15 gave my name at the front desk and they said pthey would gett the table ready. That was fine we went to the bar to order drinks the bartender was very quick and efficient friendly the drinks were delicious and then we sat there and sat there and sat there at least 45 minutes so I went to the front desk and the hosted said we could sit at any open seating. You could sit anywhere you want and I said that I requested a special table because it's our first date and we've been waiting at the bar while the staff got it ready. That eas about 50 minutes or so, and she said I don't know about that but you can sit anywhere and so I'm back to my date we sat outside on the patio and waited I'm waited for a server when she came she said she was sorry for the long wait but everyone showed up at once. My date ordered a bottle of champagne and said this was a special occasion so she came back with the champagne he asked for chilled glasses whch she btough she poured the Champaign and left the bottle on the table there was no ice bucket this is a five star restaurant I requested an ice bucket what you brought and then we waited for another I know 40 minutes before she came over to ask us if we wanted menus at this point I just wanted to leave but I didn't want to spoil our evening so we did order shrimp cocktails for two they brought 5 shrimp so my date made a comment to the server what were we going to do fight over the last shrimp he said I thought you would bring either 4 or 6 not 5 instead of her going and getting another shrimp she kind of laughed it off and said oh well that's what they put out there and walked away then she brought out some bread we could not even cut it it was hard as a rock and ice cold so we asked if she could bring us another loaf of bread and she came back and said this is the last one well it was you know it was dinner time about 9 by this time I was so hungry and it wasn't very busy so the bread should have been fresh and hot we ordered. I ordered the clam chowder New England style, my date ordered a caesar salad when they were brought to us my soup was lukewarm lukewarm cream New England clam chowder it was awful two Caesar salad had hardly any dressing at all on it so we asked the waitress if she could bring us more dressing I didn't even say at this point that my soup was cold I didn't want to have a bad evening onward and upward we did order the Seabass it was excellent the portions very generous the vegetables were delicious we both ordered a big potato potato with sour cream we ask for Chives which we did not get and they didn't even offer us Pepper or salt for our potato I'll tell you it was a true disappointment it totally ruin the moment all my date did on the drive home was complain about how awful it was there instead of focusing on a wonderful time together it truly was a disaster I think we should both get gift certificates as we are no...

It started out well. There were 5 of us and got seated as soon as we walked in the door at about 6pm. Which is strange because we made a reservation and were told they only have 8pm available but if we wanted we could take a chance and come in early. We started out with oyster rockefellers which were excellent. On par with some of the best I've had. Unfortunately this was the best part of the meal that night. My daughter had a ceaser salad and the rest of us had clam chowder. Halfway through her salad she said there was a bug in it. I took it and saw a live green bug crawling up the side of the bowl. I called the manager over who said something about it could have been from the spinner. He then laughed as he was taking it away because I said she did not want it any more. Both the manager and the server kept on asking my daughter if she wanted cake instead of her salad to the point it was becoming uncomfortable for her. I told them him to leave her alone as she does not like cake and she said over and over that she did not want any cake. Then the main meal came my daughter had king crab legs. A few of us had the seafood platter and another had fried oysters. The food was absolutely tasteless and cold. I could have ate the napkin and it probably would have tasted better. We complained once but nothing was done about it. It became very expensive dog food as we took it all home. At the end of the meal the manager came over and tried to offer us a gift certificate. I told him that he had to do something with the bill for my daughters meal as we will not be coming back to this establishment and that having bugs in the food prep area are intolerable. Very reluctantly he went back and took my daughter's meal off the bill. The manager we were dealing with had absolutely no common sense of what to do with customers in that situation. After a few words he said he was going to call the police if I wasn't going to pay the bill. Not one time did I say I was not going to pay the bill so I have no idea where he got that idea from. Besides the food the service was mediocre at best with the server pointing his finger at my Mom and saying "I'll tell you how to order, this is not McDonald's". He did get better as it seems like he was having a good time as I confronted the incompetent manager about the situation. Looking around the restaurant during our meal none of the workers seem to be happy or smiling. I have had great service in Florida from multiple places until it came to this restaurant. Horrible restaurant I would never go back! As far as the expensive dog food, the dog would not eat it and she loves shrimp. She took a sniff and walked away. It ended up going to...

My husband and I went here with friends recently. It is a local favorite for so many people we know. Many of the great things said about this place are true. The restaurant is beautiful and the layout accommodates a lot of people while maintaining some privacy which is nice if you are with friends. Our server was terrific. My husband and our friends are seafood lovers and they all enjoyed what they had. I did notice that the person who ordered salmon found a number of bones in her fish. Luckily she is a careful eater and did not choke or cut her mouth on them. As for my dinner, I ordered the “marinated charcoal grilled chicken breast”. In the interest of calories, I declined the butter sauce. When it came, there was fabulous baked potato and perfectly cooked green beans. Then there was this tough white slab of chicken that was obviously cooked in a sous vide and then given a barely passing acquaintance with the grill before arriving at my place. It was tough and tasteless. No way was it marinated or even seasoned with salt and pepper. There were only a few tiny grill marks. I guess the butter sauce would have been camo for this tasteless presentation. You may think shame on me for going to a seafood restaurant when I don’t eat seafood, but it was nice to be there with our friends and for $21 I think they could have provided a decent piece of chicken. It is not that hard. The house salad was also forgettable except for the delicious homemade dressing. Please consider catering to us non seafood people a bit more so we can enjoy dinner here with our friends. The baked potato, green beans, salad dressing and iced tea were 5 stars, but the chicken was a 1; thus...
