The items I tried - The Tuscan lentil soup, beet salad, sesame-crusted tofu and the decadent chocolate bomb were undeniable highlights, each dish a symphony of flavors and textures. My favorite was the Sesame Crusted Tofu with Jasmine Rice & Wok Seared Vegetables! The Macadamia crusted halibut was also outstanding.
Trio Dips - Hummus Tahini, Olive Tapenade, Romesco, Naan Bread, Carrot Chips
Bomb. Chocolate Bomb- Molded Vegan Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Seasonal Fruit. Cream brulee made my taste buds thank...
Read moreEDIT— Purple Olive catered our wedding on 10.22.21- I wish I could give them less than 1 star which is so sad because originally I gave them 5! Our initial experience at the taste testing (read below) was wonderful and FAR from what we experienced after the tasting experience. Peter, the owner lacked communication- it took weeks and weeks of begging for a contract (and many errors on the menu). Once we finally had an agreement in place Peter decided he didn’t want to do our wedding anymore because a larger paycheck was available for him on the same day. After expressing how WRONG this was to him via phone he sent a text stating “you’re right, we will proceed as initially agreed.” Over the months the communication was so poor on his end we didn’t know if he would even show for our big day. We spoke to the venue about his behavior and provided all email chains/texts and proof of phone calls and they were shocked. Come our wedding day (last Friday) the food was NOTHING LIKE WE TASTED at our initial taste testing… the appetizers were all cold during our cocktail hour, the chicken was so dry (we had guests complain about it) and the eggplant parmesan was not eggplant Parmesan!!! They took a cheap way out and served eggplant gnocchi….. and it was BURNT. The staff members told our guests to just scrape off the burnt pieces. All of our food was a huge disappointment and we were so saddened by this experience.
I HIGHLY encourage you NOT to book an event with Purple Olive.
Original post prior to wedding- Absolutely delicious food. My family and I went over the weekend for a tasting for our wedding. Each dish was cooked perfectly from the temperature to the seasoning.

Read moreI used Purple Olive catering for my wedding last week and was highly disappointed. From the start Chef Peter was hard to get in contact with from setting up tastings to making menu changes. I had to email him several times to get a response. The venue I had my wedding and reception only works with certain caterers and out of the 4 they had on their list I thought Purple Olive was the best choice. Oh was I wrong. Day of the wedding there were a few issues… the main one being that Chef Peter served prime rib instead of the filet mignon that was agreed upon in our contract. When I emailed the chef about this he claimed that it was indeed filet mignon. I expressed that all 80 guests agreed that it was prime rib even the staff member he sent to serve us stated it was prime rib. Also we ordered shrimp etouffee and was served jambalaya. Chef Peter did not offer any remedy for the meat mix up but kept insisting we didn’t know our beef which was an insult in its own. An event as special as our wedding day the least he could have done was apologize for the mix up but he was so concerned of the cost of beef and refunding the difference that he kept insisting that all 80 of my guests didn’t know the difference between prime rib and filet mignon. I know I’m only 1 customer to his many and my review may or may not make a difference but consider it before trusting this company with your...
