✨ Making People Feel Good with Food — That’s the Heart of Sogno ✨
Sogno — meaning “Dream” in Italian — lives up to its name in every sense. Nestled in the charming town of St. Augustine, this cozy Italian restaurant blends Old-World warmth with a refreshing coastal flair, creating a dining experience that feels both intimate and elevated. From the moment you step inside, it’s as if you’ve been welcomed into a friend’s home in Italy — one filled with the aroma of garlic, lemon, and freshly baked bread.
🍋 Authentic Flavors, Fresh Ingredients Being right on the coast has its advantages. Sogno thoughtfully sources fresh, locally caught seafood and combines it with authentic Italian recipes to craft dishes that are vibrant, balanced, and unforgettable. Each plate feels carefully considered, highlighting both tradition and locality in perfect harmony.
Some standout dishes we tried include: • 🦐 Sautéed Garlic Prawns – perfectly cooked with garlic, fresno chilies, smoky garlic, and served with grilled sourdough. • 🥗 Cold Farro Salad – a refreshing medley of farro, garbanzo beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, pickled onions, olive oil, lemon, and arugula. • 🍝 Chicken Parmesan – served over delicate capellini with parmesan; a timeless classic done beautifully. • 🐟 Pan-Seared Cod – paired with pancetta risotto, seasonal vegetables, and a white wine lemon butter caper sauce that’s nothing short of exquisite.
🌟 A Personal Touch Owners Stacy and Brian bring genuine warmth to every interaction, personally greeting guests and ensuring each table feels cared for. Our server, Danny, was equally outstanding—attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable, adding to the seamless dining experience.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date night or a special celebration, Sogno is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. It’s fresh, heartfelt, and utterly delicious — the kind of meal you’ll find yourself dreaming about long after the plates are cleared.

Read moreWe had a reservation for 6 on open table and the hostess tried to seat us at a table for 4. When I explained we needed a table for six she was confused and it was clear they didn’t have a table for six reserved for us. There was another table that could seat 6 but she said it was for another later reservation. We were offered a huge high top table for 8 in the bar. Definitely not comfortable as two of our party have a hard time hearing in the loud bar area. Also, my friends and I don’t prefer a high top. It’s not a relaxing dinner when you’re leaning, shouting and not comfortable at a high top. The hostess was left by management to handle the situation and she did not handle it well. She was extremely rude as she was trying to cover her mistake in not reserving a table for a party of 6 reservation. I felt like it was the rental car Seinfeld episode. But we have a reservation…I wish we would have left instead of taking the table as the experience and food did not make up for the initial issue. I had a reservation for my birthday in early March but I canceled it as it became apparent I would never want to celebrate or even dine at this restaurant again. A word from the manager could have help as his young hostess was not properly trained to handle a mistake that she made. The food was average. My husband had the octopus and he said it was burnt in places and very chewy. My friend had the lobster carbonara and it was very salty and she couldn’t eat it. Mine was very unsatisfying Branzino. It wasn’t what I expected based on the description. Others at the table had similar opinions about the food. It’s a shame the manager didn’t attempt to remedy the situation. Our waiter also told us (after our food took an inordinate amount of time) that they were down a waiter and he was actually the bartender. His service can’t be faulted as he had too many tables to attend to. Thankfully the company was excellent despite the poor...
Read morePurtroppo brutto sogno. We tried Sogno last year (Requested Correction - Sunday March 31 2024- for brunch I think.) I had a manzo dish - I recall tagliata di manzo. (I lived in Italy and actually do know good Italian). It was unremarkable at best. $500 for four persons, plus a hefty credit card charge and I wasn't crazy about returning, but we did anyway. This time with a party of six before a concert (Oct. 28). We were seated next to a table of 22. Eventually we got our orders in. 5:45 pm reservation, orders in at about 6:20-6:30 still plenty of time for an 8 pm concert? Nope. Food came out around 7:35-7:45. Clearly the staff was in the weeds. My son got the osso buco and said it was terrible. I got chicken parm, had a few bites but had to leave for the show and took it home. Today while reheating it, I was shocked to see the chicken was pink inside and not fully cooked. Side note: My wife had chicken marsala and was nauseous throughout that evening. Other members of the party were also very disappointed. I am not a complainer and usually give good reviews, but this merited comment.
Reply to owner- unbelievable! I love it when owners get defensive, they seem to forget who is paying who. You’re confused alright - about what’s going on in your restaurant. It was absolutely served over spaghetti as all chicken Parmesan normally is. The fact you are calling me a liar and don’t even know your food speaks volumes. No correction needed. In fact, there were several things I didn’t even mention, for example, a six dollar bread charge for bread that came out late and cold, one guest’s salad that was tiny, and the waiters dismissive and cavalier attitude. Two stars was generous. Also, if readers care to check, there are a number of other negative reviews on yelp and elsewhere that mirror...
