So this is a 3rd update and not in a good way. Seems each visit get worse and worse. So after 1st good visit we came 2nd time which was disappointing food and service wise so this time we decide to give it last chance and what a mistake. So when we just got there the blonde older lady had a face that should not be as a front desk or greeter. 0 smiles 0 accommodation, and that was almost the end of our visit, and to be honest, I wish we would just leave right then and there, but we decided to stay. Our waitress was a nice young girl with some life, but I would say her attention to details is not great but not a deal breaker. We decided to pretty much order 1/2 lb round eye, 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 smoked turkey, and some tenders. Side of 3 cheese fries and some coleslaw, and that was the mark of the end for us. The drinks we got tasted horrible, the round eye tasted bad with 0 good flavors, all you can taste is some raw meat taste! we couldn't even eat more than a bite, the turkey where you can see a picture I posted seems old, dry and had once again weird after taste. We had good amount of smoked turkey from BBQ places and this one by far was the worst we ever tried. The brisket somewhat was the only good thing but no more than 2 out 5 stars. The waffle fries with so called 3 cheese they charge $13k and that's robbery for just plain fries and cheese. Nothing special on it, no special seasonings no special toppings yet $13 for a dry mediocre fries is ridiculous, the coleslaw was not fresh you can see the picture had brown spot and discoloration of the cabbage and 0 flavor nor good or bad just plain. The tenders were swimming in oil inside the basket we got, but from everything, that was probably the best thing. The only thing that saved the lunch was to drown everything with their BBQ sauce, and I mean DROWNING because if we don't, we would have left starving. We left 85% of the food on the table, and someone that actually pays attention (our waitress) should have seen that something is wrong, being we barely touched anything. The right thing would not charge us $70 for food, which, to be honest, is not worth $20. I'm not going to lie, about 5 years ago, everything was so much better there, and since everything was declining. Unfortunately this is a place we will never come back and I suggest to anyone that like a good BBQ to look for a...
Read moreCame for the first time for a takeout order. Food was ok to be honest. However, this is another restaurant that nickel and dimes customers for no good reason. Even once you get your head around the fee they charge for using a credit card, fine some restaurants started charging. Maybe I can buy that. However charging $2.50 on an $80 takeout order for “packaging” is the dumbest thing I ever heard (and I own a restaurant). It’s obviously not the money but the concept that you charge a customer for packaging a take out order. You can’t factor that in your food cost or menu? Would you prefer your customers bring their own bags and tray so you can dump their food into them like they’re a dog??? No, so you charge your customer for something that is customary for take out orders. Is the customer supposed to charge you because there are no dishes to clean, refills needed , extra sides and sauces, no bathroom usage that requires cleaning, the cost for the AC and every other cost the restaurant saves by not having someone dine-in? Based on principle alone, will never visit again. If a restaurant is trying to “money grab” by charging a “packaging charge” for take out, they are either misinformed, greedy or mismanaged. In this case, it appears all three. Try operating a restaurant the correct economic way. “Packaging charge”,...
Read moreLet's start with the good: the service was quick & friendly, the decor comfortable, and the premises clean (and actively being kept clean by the staff). The food left much to be desired. Disclaimer: My fiancée is a native of Georgia & my father is from Kentucky, so my standards of BBQ are higher than the average human. I would classify the food as on par with or slightly better than Smokey Bones. The portions seemed very controlled, in contrast to less-refined BBQ restaurants where the "food = love" ethos rules. The sauces on the table were simple, not possessing some of the more complex flavors that I would hope to find. I got the Sloppy City sandwich, and my father got Baby Back Ribs. The sandwich was a BBQ version of a Sloppy Joe, and will keep me alive until the next meal. In my father's words, he's gotten better baby backs at Chili's, as the ones here required him to use a fork to separate meat from bone. "I left feeling hungrier than when I came in, which is not a good thing", he said. If you're staying at one of the nearby hotels, this isn't a bad option. However, you should not mistake this restaurant for a true...
