This is not a “Diamond in the Rough,” Restaurant.
It is a well tuned and engineered “Green and Organic” establishment.
One should wonder why such a rare and valuable treasure chose to be intentionally buried in a generic gas station food mart. I think the better question is why not?
Had “Tocos on the Road” located in say a large and established mall, such as the nearby, Gulf Coast, or Coconut Point malls.
It would’ve been great for the businesses. Bottom line, but potentially hotter to the customers to get the amazing attention and service they receive at the present location.
What do I know but the owne could easily charge 10 or 15% per item and more for the quality alone of our product..Apparently her goal is your complete satisfaction, and not a pile of revenue sitting in a bank.
You can count on one hand, the number of astute young business folks who understand that principle. Simply put; don’t cut corners~ add corners (barrier.)
The extra effort and energy required to overcome these arbitrary and self imposed “extra barriers” by the young owner simply seems to be resulting in a list of growing followers and loyal, repeat customers
If there are any or mini, doubting Thomas is out there after reading this long tribute to a remarkable a new establishment, please feel free as I mentioned above to ask the owner for my contact information that I supplied her with that relates to my business and I will not only speak with you, but as you may request, I will provide Any number of the 18 folks who participated in just a fun relaxing music field, but most importantly, trifecta of three vendors supplying their best efforts of Italian, Chinese and Latin food for you to independently speak with.
In the meantime, get going down Corkscrew in westerly direction.
Pass underneath route 75, and there’s a mobile gas station on the right and then the infamous Marathon gas station on your right.
Head in today!! You not your pallet or stomach will regret it.

Read moreTo say I was skeptical would be an understatement. I'm not typically one for gas station food. However, this charming little cantina, tucked inside a Marathon gas station, completely changed my mind! We ordered chips and salsa—both homemade—with thick, substantial chips and extra chunky, organic salsa fresca. The carnitas, chicken, and carne asada tacos came with a variety of fresh, organic toppings like tomato, onion, and cilantro, all freshly chopped, and served in thick, soft corn tortillas. The meat filling was so generous it was hard to keep everything inside the tortilla.
We also ordered a chicken burrito, which was customized to our liking but typically comes with beans, rice, cheese, salsa, and avocado, all wrapped in a delicious homemade tortilla. It was easily bigger than what you’d get at Chipotle. They also offered desserts and several freshly made agua frescas, which we didn’t order—and I now regret that choice.
If you enjoy good Mexican food and wouldn't believe you could find it at a gas station café, take a chance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I give 5 stars to all the offerings, to the excellent service, but only 4 for the atmosphere. While the set up was very cute, modern and super clean, its still located inside a gas station, so a 1 star minus for the ambiance.
Sincerely, a half-Mexican raised by an amazing...
Read more⭐ Unexpected Gem at a Gas Station - Authentic Flavor with One Small Hiccup
I was honestly surprised to find such a great ambiance inside a gas station taco shop - not something you see every day.
I’ve visited twice so far, and both times we ordered the steak tacos. On our first visit, the tacos were fresh, the meat quality was excellent, and there wasn’t an excess of fat - just well-balanced, flavorful bites. Definitely exceeded expectations.
Unfortunately, on our second visit, while the overall flavor was still fantastic, the meat quality wasn’t quite the same. There was noticeably more fat than meat, which was a bit of a letdown compared to our previous experience. I’ve attached pictures from both visits - hopefully they show the difference clearly.
That said, the tacos were still deliciously prepared, especially with the onions and cilantro that gave them that authentic street-style flavor. I always ask for the green sauce, which is my personal favorite - it adds the perfect touch of spice.
I’m hoping the meat inconsistency was just a one-time fluke, because we really love the way these tacos are made. The staff seems to genuinely care about what they’re serving, and I wouldn’t discourage anyone from giving them a shot. Let future reviews confirm or disprove my experience - I’ll definitely be back...
