This restaurant is new to the area, and hopefully will be here for a long time. The food at Corleone Ristorante is absolutely fantastic. It is truly Authentic Italian cooking. The recipes might be a bit different than you are used to at other Italian restaurants, but they are fantastic.
It was Saturday night and the restaurant was just about full, with maybe only two small tables open when we arrived at 6:30 pm.
The authenticity really makes this place unique because you won't get to try these meals anywhere else. Speaking to Chef-Owner Luca, you'll learn how he prepares his meals preserving the true Italian recipes. If you've been to Italy, you'll recognize the makeup and flavors of the meals. If you haven't, you'll be pleasantly surprised experiencing takes on traditional dishes.
We were served a small basket of garlic toast. The bread was freshly toasted and soaked with butter and fresh garlic. Very delicious. Our server Vanessa asked if we wanted more bread and I quickly said "YES!".
As appetizers, we had Calamari Fritta and Rice Balls. Oooh baby, they were good. The calamari was excellent, but I could have eaten a double portion. If you've never had a rice ball, you need to try one. The order comes with two large balls (Not Pete Schweddy), but no peas. :-( We're used to rice balls with meat and peas, but these were delicious nonetheless.
We had the following dishes: SPAGHETTI ALL CARBONARA - Spaghetti with egg-based creamy sauce, Romano, Parmigiano and crispy Guanciale (Pork cheek) SEAFOOD RISOTTO - Arborio Risotto with Mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and Clams. Eggplant (PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANE) Layers of fried eggplant with tomato sauce, ham, mozzarella and Parmigiano. SPAGHETTI AGLIO, OLIO E PEPERONCINO Spaghetti with garlic, red pepper and Extra Virgin Olive oil.
All of the meals were excellently prepared and the portions were perfect. Three of the dishes were finished completely and very filling. The Risotto dish was too much to finish, although my wife usually has leftovers. :-) She's had many risotto dishes over the years and said this was by far the best one.
The restaurant offers soda, wine and bottled beer. Not a huge selection, but enough if you want to enjoy a drink during dinner. I tried the Italian bottled beer which was ok.
Three of us ordered cappuccino which was fantastic. It wasn't bitter at all and had a generous dusting of cinnamon. Along with an order of cannolis (3 small shells), it was the perfect ending to our meal. The cannoli shells were fresh and had a smooth ricotta filling.
The food is what's bringing patrons in night after night. After speaking to Chef Luca, we understood why they were experiencing growing pains. It took a bit longer than usual to be served our food, although this was the first dinner for our two couples, so we had lots to talk about and didn't mind the wait. You'd want to go in with expectations that every dish is fresh and cooked to order, so patience is key. They plan to expand the kitchen, add chefs and kitchen help and make room for more tables once the kinks are ironed out. I'd imagine over the next few weeks/months, this place will be humming like a well-oiled machine.
All in all, this is definitely one of those restaurants you'll want to visit regularly for Authentic Italian food like what you'd enjoy in Italy. You can be sure that if he can find a minute in between preparing dishes, Chef Luca will be out on the floor...
Read moreWe were super excited to have dinner here after seeing an amazing post and review from a local foodie. We did not realize how small of a restaurant it was and that reservations are a must for a Saturday evening. We were offered outdoor seating which we took.
And this is where it started to go downhill. The host told us we can go outside and someone would be right with us. There are 3 tables outside. One of them was already occupied by a couple. The other table was in a corner so we decided to sit at the larger table since there were 3 of us dining. The table only had 2 chairs so my husband stood and waited for someone to come out. We waited for about 10 minutes before anyone even came outside. We told the waitress we need a 3rd chair to which she tells me husband, "oh you can juat grab a chair from the other table over there".....so my husband had to go get his own chair. There were only 2 napkins and 2 plates on the table. I had to ask the waitress after we received bread for another place setting and utensils which we never got upon sitting.
I did not realize that this really isn't a child friendly restaurant which I'll take the fault on that but figured there's something they can put together that my 10 year old would eat. The waitress stated she can do spaghetti in a red sauce, perfect! I asked what kind of protein can be added which she stated she can ask the chef to add either shrimp or breaded chicken. We chose chicken and asked if it could be on the side to which she replied yes. We received our appetizers about 20 minutes later to which the waitress then stated "sorry but the chef said he can not do the chicken, we are just too busy" I replied "my sons meal still hasn't even been put in all this time?? Why?" She responded "I was waiting on the chef to tell me if he could make the chicken." To not make a big deal, I said I'll just take the pasta then. What I really don't understand is they have chicken cutlet parmigiana on their menu! So I really can't understand WHYYYY a chicken cutlet couldn't be made when if I had ordered it from the menu it's the same thing! I wasn't asking for free chicken! We were going to cancel our order and pay and leave but I told my husband the waitress already put the order in, again to not be difficult, I let it be.
But after receiving all our food, I just realized we should have canceled, paid and left. I regretted it afterwards. $185 for 2 meals, a bowl of spaghetti, 2 appetizers (calamari & toasted bread with prosciutto, tomatoes, balsamic glaze-forgot name), water and 4 glasses of soda (they charge $4 a can and charge for refills). Portions are small for a $30 bowl of pasta. We received literally 3 slices of bread-1 slice for each of us and would be charged for any extra...my husband's meal came with potatoes, which he had about 6 quarter pieces with his veal which cost $46.
We were never asked if we would like dessert. We still tipped the waitress her 20%. This is definitely a one and done. I rarely leave bad reviews. I am the type of person who will go out of my way to praise good service and good employees but i was very disappointed tonight and stopped on my way home to get my son some protein as he was still hungry when we left. I will say, the actual flavor of my dinner was decent but not...
Read moreThe table was ready for our reservation. We sat down immediately and we’re asked if you would like something to drink. Brought us was with lemon And asked for bread. Bread came out hot and was a delicious garlic bread topped with cheese.
We then asked to try the wine that we wanted to order. The waiter brought it over immediately. Zach was very attentive to our table give give us a very good suggestions for dinner.
within place in order for dinner as well as an appetizer a salad and then the bruschetta will me order the Bruschetta we were told that this would be our second plate of bread and if we needed the third we would be charge for it we were a little confused on that matter.
We didn’t wind up needing the basket bread so it didn’t come in issue.
I took a suggestion from Zach and order the Pesci Penna pasta It was very good looking for little bit more seafood than I received it was supposed to have lobsters , shrimp , Octopus-but taste was delicious. Just could have been less saucy. Both my husband and my girlfriend order the Bronzino which was absolutely delicious and our friend David ordered chicken Parmesan which he gave a rated an eight which is very impressive for David as that is all he eats at all Italian restaurants. All in all the service was amazing with Zach and we will be back
We were here on Sunday night, it was just as good as I remember. The service and attentiveness was awesome ! We will be back☺️
Our 6 time with an experience at Corleone, 2 weeks ago
Arrived on time for a 7:30 reservation. Waitress was okay tonight, brought a bottle of wine, which corkage fee was $26, which I was aware of.
But she said that the glass are being washed. I had to request a glass 10 minutes later. We asked for the about the special menu. She brought it out, after we asked. She advised that she was out of osabuco and one other.
The waitress never told us that they were out of anything on the special menu. She took our order for appetizers, which we of us had planned on having on the special. As it turned out, they were out of eggplant. They were out of veal Parmesan so we could not have the special menu.. So obviously didn’t start Off well. three out of four of us wanted, eggplant Parmesan, which they were out of they were out of the veal cutlet Parmesan. So we ordered it ff the regular menu. The food came out. It was good, but at this point, we were very disappointed.
When we were presented with the bill, we questioned the appetizers, questioned that there should have been some kind of a accommodation for the special menu not being available. Then Alyssa, who is the owners daughter, came over and told us that she had already given us a discount for the appetizers and there was nothing more she could do. She was very rude! Our friends were very disappointed in the experience we had.
I apologized but of course they said it wasn’t my fault.. recently we read they are not offering the $60 menu on the weekend, which I understand. I don’t this they way this was handled by the staff was a pleasant...
