Oh, so my first review “mysteriously disappeared”? Cute. How dare you try to silence me instead of cleaning up your filthy kitchen. Newsflash: deleting my review doesn’t delete the 13 health code violations found on the 18th of September. And let’s not pretend this was a “one-time oops.” These same violations have been going on for over a year. You’ve been shut down in emergency closures more than once. Yet here you are, still slinging pizza like nothing’s wrong.
Meanwhile, you’re out here giving perks for fake 5-star reviews to cover up the truth. Do you really think burying honest reviews under a pile of fake ones makes your food any safer?!? You might have deleted my first review, but guess what? I’ll repost five times over if I have to. I’ll make sure this whole community knows exactly what you’re serving ... and it’s not just pizza, it’s slime, mold, and chemicals. I fed this food to my BABY. My husband and I both got sick. That’s not just disgusting — that’s dangerous. You don’t get to play games with people’s health and think you can silence the ones who call you out. Community, do yourself a favor: look up their inspection reports before you ever think about eating here. Don’t let a wall of fake 5-stars fool you.
To say, I have a personal vendetta against Shanner restaurants is a far stretch to say that I'm concerned about potential customers getting sick from your kitchen, like mine did, that's true. It seems you laugh about a lot of things, but I'm just regurgitating the findings on the inspection where it's clearly says slime, mold, and chemicals were found in your ice bin. I clearly have a very close relationship with the health inspector that did the last inspection and I've been in contact with her buy Thanks for sharing your inspector's information, I'm wondering if his inspections are biased. As far as your server asking my family if everything was okay after leaving after 15 minutes. That's false your server joked with my infant saying Whaa whaa whaa what's wrong little baby is it time to leave (mind you my son wasn't crying).. Sorry my infant couldn't respond to your server. We would have been able to complain to our server if she would have 1.ran our food or 2 checked up on us after dropping the food. But your server didn't do...
Read moreThis was my first time dining here and, unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. My parents and their friends and have eaten here for many years, following Shaner's to each new location, and they have done nothing but brag about how great Shaner's pizza is.
When the pizza came out, one pizza was made incorrectly and there was no attempt to remake the pizza. The pizza was suppose to have green olives but there were black olives instead. Mr. Shane did bring out green olives but my mother cannot eat black olives. I guess she was suppose to just add the cold green olive to the top of her pizza. We had to dig the black olives out of her pizza just so she could eat something.
Four of us were dining and every one of our pizzas were room temperature. This is not an exaggeration. When we brought it to the attention on our waitress, Stacey, she did not apologize or offer to take the pizzas back to warm them up. By the time I finished my pizza, the cheese was congealed and seriously cold. On a positive note, the pizza had good flavor and I did eat it.
I am sure this is a great place and those that dined with me said this does not usually happen, and if it did happen in the past, the error was taken care of.
If I can give Stacey some advice, I would like to let her know that if a customer is not happy or has a complaint, such as the food being cold, try to make it right. If you can't make it right, at least apologize. Avoiding the customer does not work. I did leave a 20% cash tip but I generally tip much more than that. Some at my table did not want to leave a tip at all but I understand things happen. Just apologize, that would have made all the difference.
We were not looking for free food or a discount but acknowledging that things were not right is great for customer service. We all understand that things sometimes occur. An apology goes a long way. Just for the record, we received neither a discount or the incorrect pizza removed from our bill.
Sadly, I will not go out of my way to return and cannot wholeheartedly recommend Shaner's. As I said earlier, Shaner's has a fantastic reputation and hopefully this was a...
Read moreAfter a long bendy, the boys decided to order some wings and Za.
Let’s start with the pizza…cheesy and delicious, but had a significant amount of grease. The pizza box looked like it has been spending a lot of time at Jiffy Lube. The pie was also missing a corner, it appeared to be removed while they were cutting the pizza into little squares. While the pizza had nice a-cheesy bite, the grease significantly weighs down the quality of this Za. 3/5
Now to the wings…but what we got was more like bone in chicken nuggets. We decided to delete an order of 24 buffalo wangs, but we just got the wings… we didn’t get buffalo. Nothing can prepare you for the let down of being hype over an order of wings with the boys and then getting them and they don’t have any sauce. The chicken itself was great, but I would prefer to get wings with sauce on them and not have to toss them in cholula when I get home. They provided 4 dipping sauces, 3 blue cheese and 1 ranch. We asked for both, it appears this establishment favors blue cheese over ranch. I happened to eat chicken nuggets from McDonald’s earlier today and unfortunately there wasn’t much of a difference. 1.5/5
I really wanted to like this place. I really thought we picked a winner. The reviews online were impressive, but the meal that we ordered was not. For the pizza enthusiasts, it’s worth trying. Wing lovers beware. (2 stars..but sauce on the wings and slightly less grease would get them back up to 4).
Edit: had to drop this puppy down to 1 star, 3/4 boys woke up with tummy aches...
